Lilith nearly tripped, not used to wearing heels, marching down the hall quickly. She thought she heard a scream, but thought nothing of it, her thoughts scrambling all over the place. The first place she went to was the lounge, finding the twins, the girls and Karl watching a horror movie together. They were watching The Conjuring, one of Lilith's favorite movies. Amy was hiding in Karl's arms, watching through her fingers. Lily and Daniela was smiling, watching excitedly. Bela was hugging a sleeping Donna close, when she noticed Lilith peeking through the door. Cassandra was nowhere to be seen.
"Where is Cass, Bela?" Lilith asked as Amy happily paused the movie.
"Holy shit, mom! You look beautiful!" Lily exclaimed as all the women looked at her with admiration.
"I'm here. You look fucking awesome, Lilith." Cassandra smiled with a bit of blood on her lips. Lilith smiled warmly at the women as Cassandra took her seat. Donna woke up, smiled up at Lilith, before glancing at Cassandra with a raised eyebrow. Cassandra smiled a guilty smile, before wiping the blood from her mouth.
"Girls, Karl! Listen to me quickly..." Lilith spoke in a hushed tone, closing the door behind her.
"Lilith, why do you look like a girl?" Karl snorted, earning an elbow from Amy.
"Shut it, Karl. I'm going to propose to Alcina." she smiled, hardly able to control her nerves. The girls squealed with happiness, getting up and running to Lilith, hugging her tightly.
"Shh! Quiet, my girls. She might hear you. Karl, thanks again for the ring. Wish me luck!" she grinned, receiving a thumbs up from Karl.
"Good luck, mom!" the twins chimed, hugging her again.
"Good luck, Lilith!" Cassandra said, with smiles from her sisters and Donna. Lilith left the room, biting the inside of her mouth. She quietly made her way to the greenhouse, hoping Charlotte did a good job. As she entered the greenhouse, she gasped, looking at an elegantly set table, under a canopy of dim fairy lights. The plates and cutlery was old gold, Victorian Era with black candles in a candelabra. The rest of the greenhouse was dark, the table and daybed lit only by a few candles, giving it a magical atmosphere.
"Fuck yes, Charlotte!" she cheered softly to herself, walking over to the day bed. Charlotte put on the dark red bedding, and threw black rose petals everywhere. She conjured her piano into the greenhouse, before checking the time on her pocket watch. It was quarter to eight, so she quickly ran to the kitchen.
"Chef?" she called as she entered a very busy kitchen.
"Yes, mistress?" the head chef stepped forward, mixing something in a bowl, cradled in his arm.
"Please have two maiden wait on us this evening. I'll ring a bell, letting you know when we're ready to be served. Is everything alright in here? Do you need anything?"
"Of course, mistress. No, we're doing just fine, thank you. You go ahead, we'll be ready, don't worry." he smiled warmly at Lilith, before turning back to the stove.
"Thank you!" Lilith called as she ran back to the greenhouse. 'Five to eight...' she thought to herself, as she took a seat at the piano. She started playing softly, a cigarette lazily hanging from her lips. She was playing her own lullaby, to try and calm her nerves. (Claire de Lune - Claude Debussy)
She suddenly felt Alcina's hands on her shoulders, before feeling her embrace her waist, kissing her softly on her cheek. She finished the song and turned to Alcina.
"I love that song." Alcina whispered in her ear, hugging her close.
"You look absolutely breathtaking, amare. So so beautiful." Lilith sighed with a smile, placing a kiss on Alcina's knuckles.
