I turn around after registering what lily said.

"How is that possible, it's been forever," Clarissa looks surprised as she speaks.

"I was kidding, you people just seemed really sad. Sorry," when she says that I literally go into attack mode and lunge myself at her. Before my fist can connect with her face, Riley grabs my wrist and pulls me back.

"Calm down," he whispers into my ear. I hide my fake smile. This little plan would be easier if I actually liked him, and wasnt going behind my friends back. I remove my wrist from his grasp, but immediately I'm pulled closer. I look and see Maggie coming outside, holding Corbin's hand. Then I remember why I went through with this plan.

"Hey Maggie want to go swimming?" Corbin asks Maggie. She nods her head like an excited chihuahua. They run through the forest holding hands and jumping over tree roots laughing. When they reach the water, Maggie pushes Corbin in. I can't watch anymore and walk inside.

I knock on clarissas door. "Come in," I hear her say and I slam the door open and sit on her bed. Madison is in there with her. They were whispering before I came in.

-Clarissa's POV-

I hear a knock on the door.

"Don't answer it. If whoever it is finds out we are hiding food, then we are screwed and-" I interrupt Madison before she can finish her sentence.

"Come in," I say reluctantly. Alex slams the door open and sits on the bed. She looks at me and then at Madison.

"Hello Clarissa, Madison," she smiles, it's not her usual smile, it's fake. But then again I haven't seen her smile at me for a long time. It's like we aren't even best friends anymore.

"Is something wrong you-" I slap my hand across Madison's face. If there is one thing Alex doesn't like, it's being asked what's wrong. Madison shuts up.

"I don't trust Corbin anymore. I'm going to kill him. Tonight," her words are of peer hatred. I can tell Alex wasn't lying about killing him. "Will you help me?" Will I help her?!?! What kind of question is that! I'm not a murderer. But maybe I could become one. I smirk.

"Yes I will help. Madison will to," I smile at Madison. She tries to object but the she can't find the right words.

-Alex's POV-

I smile and walk out of the room. Pleased with what I here. I put on a smile and run over to Riley. If I'm in a good mood it will be deceive Maggie and Corbin. When I see him I hug him instantly.

"Wow, hey Alex. Your happy," I only can giggle. Lily stands there a little annoyed I interrupted there conversation. I step back from Riley and apologize to Lily.

"Want to swim," I ask lily and Riley. They both nod their heads and head into the water. I jump in, trying to make a lot of noise so Maggie and Corbin see they have company. Riley jumps in after, then lily. We swim out kinda far and play Marco-Polo. I learned that I am terrible at that game. Lily isn't that bad. Riley is amazing. In a terrible time like the zombie apocolypse you can still have fun. We are running out of food but we don't want to go back to town. From a distance I see Clarissa and Madison swimming torwards us.

"Hey guys!" Lily calls out. They don't reply but continue swimming torwards me and Riley. They both look terrified. I swim to the nearest island which isn't ours and wait for them. Clarissa reaches land first.

"We need to relocate. Now" her voice is trembling with fear. When Madison reaches land she nods really fast.

"What happend," I ask.

"Well um how do I put this. Madison was practicing her shooting when she shot a generator and set a small fire. It won't go out. We tried putting water on it to put it out but it won't go."

I stand there shocked then run back to the water and swim. I grab Riley's hand, pull him forward a few inches so he gets the idea to go back, then I let go. We might have a few minutes to grab some of our belongings. All I know is that, we won't have anywhere to stay.
