Surprise

It's been silent since Clarissa came out. We all have our guns to Riley's head. I'm thinking through what Olivia told me. Could Riley be one of them? I remove my gun from Riley's head. Everyone looks at me including Riley.

"Alex, what are you doing!" Madison screams at me.

"Riley could be innocent. For all we know he was being quiet. The zombies were going after us because we were shooting," I explain. I look at Riley and then at Corbin who is holding him down. I walk away after looking at them, for some reason I fell Riley is innocent.

I hear a boat coming from the lake. I look to see who is on it, when I see I nearly faint. Maggie. I walk to the water as she comes in. I watch as she reaches the land and steps off.

"Maggie?" I question.

"Hello Alex," her voice barely above a whisper. "I'm back."

"How! Riley said that you were attacked by zombies and-" she cut me off before I could finish.

"He lied. I wasn't attacked. He told us to split up in the store so we did. When I was finished grabbing supplies I looked around for Riley. When I figured he left me there the doors to the store were broken down. I ran up the ladder only to see that you were all on the boat and heading back," by now Maggie was raising her voice. She was practically screaming. I was speechless.

"Hey um sorry lily Corbin Olivia can you keep an eye on Riley. I hear screaming." All of the sudden I hear feet running over to we're we are. When they reach us they stop.

"Maggie?" Clarissa and Madison say at the same time.

Maggie holds her finger to her nose telling them to be quiet. They walk over with their mouths hanging. Out of the corner of my eye I see Maggie smile. She runs over and hugs us all.

"Wait Maggie how are you here? You died!" Clarissa says a little to loudly. Maggie explains the story again. As she is explaining we are walking over to we're the others are. Maggie stops talking when she sees Riley. Her face red with hatred and anger. When Riley looks up to see why it got quiet he turns white.

"Riley!" Maggie screams, fist balled ready to attack at any given moment. "How dare you leave me back in the store!" She lunges herself at Riley.

"Maggie, baby" he says casually blocking her attack. "I didn't leave you. You got lost in the store." He says with a smirk. Right after he finishes Maggie punches him in the gut then runs off. Riley falls to the ground. Some of us watch Maggie leave and the others watch Riley on the ground in pain holding his stomach.

I'm sitting on my "bed" looking out the window. Corbin walks in and puts his hand on my shoulder. I brush it off and turn around. "Corbin," I say with a sigh, "I'm breaking up with you." I walk out of the room before he can say anything. I sleep with Maggie that night on the floor. We don't want to sleep with Corbin or Riley anymore. I feel someone shake me.

"Alex! Wake up someone is crying," Maggie say and pulls me off the ground. She walks me onto my old room and the first thing I see is blood.

"Corbin?" Maggie says and he whips around tears staining his face. His arms are covered with blood and a knife is laying next to him.

"Why are you here" while he tries to talk to Maggie his eyes are glued to me. I can't stand it anymore. It's my fault. I can't see him like this. I can't be in a relationship during this time. I pick up a knife and contemplate whether to throw it at him. Maggie sees what I am doing and she pulls it out of my hand and shakes her head. I walk out and run to clarissas room. I shake her vigorously. She sits up and looks at me.

"What's wrong. And don't tell me nothing because something is wrong," I explain what happens and all she can do is stare.
