Jungkook's POV

I woke up this morning, nothing out of the ordinary. I did the usual routine and walked to my dresser to get my medicines and then my heartbeat stopped momentarily. There were no medicines left. It all came rushing into my mind. I am cured now.

How is it that all of a sudden a test result comes in one day, and decides your fate for the future? The report said NEGATIVE in blue bold letters and everyone cried. Well, my mother, father, and my grandpa. I cried too but not in front of everyone like a loser.

I guess I will have to get used to this new morning routine without medicines. Good for me. I will have more time that I can utilize to do other stuff. Now, what is this other stuff? It is very comprehensive if you ask me. As a profound and barely functioning teenager, I know. We hardly get anything done.

I am laying in my bed and thinking about the next battle I have to fight. Highschool.

I will not lie, my dad did not let it show but he was knocked the worst when we got to know about my health condition. To ensure that I should not succumb to the idea of being a sick kid, he essentially kept everything around me as normal as he could. Well, aside from the shitloads of medicines that I ate in last year and a half, he did not change a bit.

When my mother was more considerate towards my condition, my father was hell-bent to not change a thing. He still scolded me for coming home late, he did not let me slack off in my studies or sports. He even went ahead in his exaggerated efforts to make everything seem normal and made me skip two grades of my middle school. In his defense, I was the brilliant kid. I am now an official highschool junior starting from tomorrow onwards.

You know what going to school after summer break feels like. Isn't it? I will have to fix my sleep schedule, wake up early in the morning, try to look presentable and not look like a homeless boy, try socializing, do homework, have mental breakdowns, teachers in general, find clothes that are 'dress code' appropriate, did I mention fixing sleep schedule? Yeah, and the worst, new class meaning meeting new people and making new friends.

I guess I can do it. After all, teenagers supremacy. Woohoo! No one is as strong as a teenager is and no one deals with shit more than a teenager does. So, I am ready. I wish that I cope with the stringent study sessions, specially with the higher grade I am in now. People in my class will all want to party and drink but I, I just don't want to get sick anymore.

"Jungkook, honey, it's time," Mrs. Jeon drew the curtains of Jungkook's room and the sunlight fell on his body. The boy squirmed, yawned, tossed to the other side, but kept sleeping. "Honey, get up. You cannot be late on your first day. Teachers will have your introduction, you don't want to miss it."

"Are you sure that school re-opens today? Maybe you have mistaken the date. Can you please check again?" Jungkook's muffled groans came out of his mouth that was mushed against his pillows.

"Jeon Jungkook, get up now." Mrs. Jeon's voice became stricter and when Jungkook's full name was called, he knew the trouble was around the corner.

"I am up." The boy jumped out of bed and made a beeline to the bathroom.

"DON'T SLEEP IN THERE! I WANT YOU DOWNSTAIRS IN 15 MINUTES!" Mrs. Jeon yelled and returned to the ground floor.

Jungkook sighed as he stared at the water running in front of his eyes. A few bad memories flashed rushed past his mind. It was right in the bathroom when he first had his first episode. He fell and lost consciousness when his father found him. Shuddering his head along with the memory, he stood below the showerhead and let the warm drizzle wet his hair and body.
