Chapter 21

Rosemary's POV
A few hours after I left the house I went back home. Adrian keeps begging us to stay out longer. I have no idea what that's about. When we got to Malakai's house I saw Hannah's car in the driveway. I opened the car door and took off my seatbelt. I said "goodbye" to my dad and brother then got out of the car. Elizabeth saw me and ran up to me.

"Hi! Where's your uncle?"

"Uncle who?"

"Oh right. You have two. Where's Uncle Malakai?"

She pointed to the car.

"Lizzie?! Where did you go?!"

"I'm by Rosey!"

I saw Mal and ran up to him.

"Hi!!"

"Hey! I told you it wouldn't be forever!"

"It felt like it! You seem happier than you did yesterday."

"I do? I just had a really good day."

"I did too!"

"I bet that felt relieving."

"A little bit. It's nice to know I at least have two family members that are on my side."

"We should get going. We're going to lunch with Tilly tomorrow."

We said "goodbye" to Elizabeth and Hannah then they got in the car. Malakai thanked them for their help. What did they help with? The front door opened and Christian started yelling.

"WE'RE GOING TO THE STORE! ARE YOU COMING?!"

"You don't need to yell. Rose do you want to go?"

"No. Is it okay if we don't go?"

"Yeah."

Once his family left it was just us and Sora.

"I'm going to shower. I won't be long."

He grabbed some clothes then went into his bathroom. I heard the water running. I started getting lost in my thoughts.

Why do I feel sad?

Today was a good day.

I was with my dad and my brother.

Kai was with his sister and niece.

Oh wait.

I think I know the problem.

His relationship with one of his family members got fixed.

None of mine have.

He has a mother that loves him.

I don't.

He has a mother that wants him around.

I don't.
