                                Malakai's POV
The night before the trial Elizabeth didn't sleep. I could tell

"I know you didn't sleep. Why didn't you come get me?

"I don't know."

"You okay?"

Instead of answering she ran to the bathroom and started throwing up.

"Mal did you stress her out about this?"

"All I did was ask why she didn't come get me since she couldn't sleep."

"THAT'S why she doesn't feel good right now. She's sick because she's stressed and tired."

We walked into the bathroom and saw her laying on the floor in a fetal position.

"Are we really going to put her through this?"

"Do we even have a choice?"

"I don't think we do."

"Please don't make me do this!"

I crouched down in front of her.

"You can do this."

"I don't wanna see him!"

"Neither do we."

"Once this is done you'll never have to see him again."

I helped her stand up. We got her to calm down a bit then got in the car. At a red light I looked at the rear view mirror and saw she was scratching her skin.

"What if they let him go and he wants me?"

"I doubt that will happen."

"What if it does?"

"We'll never let that happen. Your mom gave us custody of you for a reason."

"We have the paperwork to prove it."

Rose pulled out a piece of paper out of her bag.

"You brought it?"

"Better be safe then sorry."

We got to the courthouse and Elizabeth refused to get out of the car.

"I can't see him!"

"Then don't look at him. Keep your eyes on us or the person asking questions."

"They're probably gonna ask you if you see the person who did it. Point at him while looking away."

Once we finally got her out of the car she walked in with her head down. She grabbed my hand and started squeezing it. When we walked over to the prosecutor she still wouldn't look up.

"Hi I'm Mrs. Guzman. Are you Elizabeth?"

"It's okay. She's on our side."

She slowly picked her head up then moved hair out of her face. She looked behind Mrs. Guzman and started running.

"Don't run! Where are you going?!"
