Chapter 20

Malakai's POV

I woke up before Rose so I started getting ready. I grabbed some of the money I have hidden and put it in my wallet.

"Mally? Do you really need to leave?"

I turned around and saw a look that I hate seeing.

"It won't be all day. It's just a few hours. Alright? Han and your brother are here. I will see you later. I love you."

"I love you."

I walked downstairs then opened the front door. I walked to Hannah's car. I opened the passenger side door and got in then put my seatbelt on.

"I feel so bad. She gave me this look like I broke her heart. I don't like when she looks at me like that."

"I'm hungry."

"You ate like fifteen minutes ago Liz."

I felt the seat going back and forth.

"Elizabeth stop kicking the seat please."

At a red light Hannah gave Liz something to eat.

"Mal do you want anything?"

"No I'm good. Do you remember where the mall is?"

"I think so. It's around the corner right?"

"Yeah."

When we got to the mall parking lot Hannah found a spot then parked.

"Can you help her get out of her car seat? It's easy."

I got out of the car and helped Elizabeth. I picked her up then put her feet on the ground.

"Hold your uncle's hand."

I held Liz's hand as we walked.

"Do you know where this place is?"

"It's above the food court."

I led them to the jewelry store. I started looking at rings but I wasn't seeing any that I thought she'd like. Elizabeth grabbed my hand and brought me over to more rings. She started pointing.

"Look! Rose!"

"Huh? Where?"

I started looking around.

"She's not here!"

"Malakai there's a rose shaped ring right in front of your face."

Holy shit!

"Uh do I wanna know how much that is?"

"Depends on how much you have."

I took the money out of my wallet and started counting.

"Did you rob a bank?!"

"No. I've just never used any of my money."

"You've never gotten anything?"

"No. What am I supposed to buy?"
