As soon as my alarm went off, I sprang out of bed in a flash. It was Christmas morning and, sure, I wasn't a little kid anymore, but the holidays always excited me. This time, however, I was excited for a different reason. I had everything all planned out and I hoped it would go smoothly.

"Merry Christmas!" I said to my parents once I entered the kitchen.

"Merry Christmas, Soobin!" they said in return. "Is Y/N up yet?" my mother asked, frying some eggs for breakfast.

"Not sure," I admitted. "I'll go and see."

I tiptoed towards Y/N's bedroom, not wanting to startle her in case she was sleeping. I softly opened the door to see her enveloped under the covers, emitting light, quiet snores. Her hair was sprawled all over her pillow and a small smear of drool hung at her lips, but to me, she looked like the cutest thing I'd ever seen. I almost didn't want to wake her.

But I did. "Y/N," I called, shaking her shoulder a bit. "Y/N, wake up. It's Christmas morning!"

She stirred a bit, mumbling words, until she came to her senses, smiling at me sleepily which made my heart flutter. "Morning," she said.

"Good morning," I replied, helping her sit up. "And Merry Christmas."

Her smile grew. "Merry Christmas to you too. I hope it snows."

"Me too. It doesn't really feel like Christmas if it doesn't snow, huh?"

"Mhm. Now, can you get off the covers so I can get dressed? I'm trapped." She chuckled as I quickly hurried off the bed, muttering an apology. I went back to the kitchen to inform my parents that she was awake now.

"You got everything planned out?" my mother asked, surprising me that I halted in my tracks, swivelling.

"Uhh...huh?"

"I saw your journal opened. If you want to be discreet, it would be best not to leave your private pages opened for the world to see, hm?" She gave a chuckle and I scratched my nape sheepishly, turning a little pink.

"Right..."

The day progressed pretty normally from there. No one came over since we usually liked to keep Christmas as a family thing, keeping my birthday as the extended party scene instead. We usually did the gift exchanges in the evening after dinner, so before dinner arrived, the day seemed pretty nonchalant. The only thing that wasn't nonchalant was, well, me.

I was nervous, to say the least. I was second guessing myself, wondering if what I had planned wasn't really perfect and that I was making a big mistake and Y/N would hate me forever. Hell, what if she saw me as some sort of brother? That would be both repulsive and heartbreaking for me.

I tried to calm myself down, telling myself to go through with it because it was now or never.

Eventually, we all finished the big, delicious dinner my mom had prepared and sat in the living room for the awaited gift exchange. My parents kept sending me knowing looks, but Y/N didn't notice, so I didn't pay them much mind.

"First is Mom," I decided and my dad, Y/N, and I all gave her our respective gifts.

My father gave her a framed photo of the four of us, Y/N gave her a nice bottle of perfume, and I gave her a locket. She teared up a bit, but obscured her emotional behaviour with a quip.

"Oh, you all shouldn't have," she started, wiping her tears, but then added, "Just kidding—of course you should have! I don't cook and clean up after you folks like Cinderella just to be cheated out of appreciation!" But then she laughed and we all joined in, knowing she was only kidding.
