The room grew quiet, Changbin in anticipation of the answer, yet neither of the two seeming willing to give it. "Well?" he urged again, the boys simply looking at the ground. I quietly walked down, hoping they wouldn't notice. I could feel a hand on my waist, Chan's head leaning on my shoulder to get a glimpse of what was going on as well.

"It's nothing, really," Jeongin finally answered, Jisung still keeping quiet. "Well, if it was nothing you wouldn't be here beating each other up now would it? Listen, I don't know what's going on, but resolve it you two. I don't want any fighting among us here, save that for Minho and the other's." The both nodded, barely even sparing each other a glance.

Changbin turned his back on the two, already spotting me and Chan, a sigh coming out. "Come on, let's leave these two alone to talk things out." Jisung and Jeongin finally looked up, both startled to see us. "Sorry, we'll go right now," I rushed, turning around in Chan's chest. He instantly pulled me by the waist to support me from falling backwards. I paused for a split second, startled from the situation, slipping past him quickly, almost even running back to my room.

Well, so much for a nice breakfast. I was pretty worried though, in all honesty. Especially after learning that their relationship was probably worse than I had thought. They'd probably be alright, wouldn't they? I once again let myself fall down on the bed, looking out the window again. I probably shouldn't ask too much about it. I had enough to worry about on my own.

Still though... What really happened between them?

----------

There was absolutely no sound in the kitchen. Neither Jisung nor Jeongin spoke a word. Their fists had already done so before Changbin came in. To say it was bad was an understatement. Jeongin had finally gone too far this time. He was always snarly to Jisung whenever they were alone, which he had found weird. Even after he learned why when Jeongin completely lashed out this time, it still didn't make sense to him. Why would Jeongin blame him? It's not like he specifically did something wrong, it was their parents that messed up.

"I saw you watching me and Y/N just now, you know," Jeongin had started it with earlier when the two met in the kitchen. "So what?" Jisung answered shortly, only annoying Jeongin even more. "Are you going to try to steal her away? Just like your dad did with my mom?" Again. This was at least the hundredth time he had brought it up, now even involving Y/N.

"Can you for once just stop? If you truly think that we're going to end up just like our fathers, does that mean you're going to abuse Y/N since you seem quite fond of her? Maybe I was right to keep an eye on you two then!" Jisung wasn't actually. He just so happened to be passing by, seeing the two looking happy together searching for something. Sure, he did admit he was slightly jealous to see them get along so well. He wanted to be close as well, whether it was to Jeongin or Y/N, since he never got to have that with anyone. Was that too much to ask? And now again and again Jeongin kept on ruining all that. If he wasn't even going to try to become friendly, why would Jisung?

That comment however made Jeongin's blood boil. He punched Jisung without thinking, instantly earning one back. No. He was never going to be like his father, never! See, this was why he hated Jisung. He was just like his father. Looking all kind, but he just knew that deep down Jisung would betray him, one way or another. After all, he really was like his dad. But not Jeongin. No, he wouldn't get betrayed like his father, he wouldn't get hurt trying to get close to someone like him.

Did he lie to Y/N when he said he never got to hear the full story? He did. He felt bad for it too, seeing how she was only trying to be sincere, but he couldn't possibly get her tangled up in this. It would probably for the best. He had heard all the stories from his father, how his mother and that man had betrayed him. His mother never spoke a word about it, nor did everyone else, so that was all he knew, but what he had heard was enough for him to know that that man and his family were not to be trusted.

His mother however, he couldn't be too sure of what to think. He used to despise her after all that his father had imprinted in his head, but since she was the one mostly taking care of him, he couldn't possibly show that. He always was so sure that she too was at fault, that she was the one to go along with what that man did to her, but after seeing for himself what Y/N was going through, little by little he was starting to understand her circumstances. Maybe that was why he gave his mother's favorite dress to her.

Jeongin couldn't quite figure it out himself, nor how to truly feel about his mother as he grew older. Was she really as bad as his father had told him? Were the stories his father told all true, or was there more to it? He didn't know, but these questions just seemed to linger on his mind. However, even when he tried to see it from a different perspective, he still couldn't help but feel disgusted upon seeing Jisung, reminded of what his father had done. Maybe things would change one day but not for now.

"Let's just pretend we made up like usual. I'm going to make breakfast for Y/N and make sure she'd okay since you startled her so much," Jeongin finally spoke, walking past Jisung to prepare the food. Jisung scoffed, but decided not to comment on it. Though maybe he was right after all. Jeongin really did grow to resemble his father, even if he tried not to.

Maybe he really should watch out for Y/N after all.
