"Holy fucking hell,"
Chifuyu cursed for the umpteenth time, disbelief coursing the veins on his forehead. Now that Baji had mentioned that information, Toman has been a group of eccentricity, and none ever happened the normal way. Why did he even expect that they do such things? They were far from it, and when he describes far, at least the distance of the Earth from the sun.
"But, I know them well enough, Fuyu. They will eventually make up," Baji said, beaming another proud smile at him again, "Making up and talking is super lame. What are they? A married couple?"
"Ah, so you're lame for talking like this to me?" Chifuyu questioned, raising an eyebrow.
Baji sweatdropped, "No, of course not. We are having a manly-man talk, and I'm telling that they will make up. Trust them, Fuyu."
"Your tongue might do some wonders, and a miracle happens when you, founding members, meet."
"Oh, my tongue? It does."
"What a disgusting motherfucker."
They both laugh at their exchange, finding it stupid how their conversation turns. Somehow it settles Chifuyu that they go back to normal, and anxiety no longer had them in their throats—this time, at least. It assures him that Baji will start talking about Toman's business to him again, telling each other's opinions and solutions. In his own little way, he can bring the favor back from all the things Baji had done.
"Your hair is getting long," reaching out for Baji's black hair, "Should we cut it?"
Baji chuckles, "I still have no plans cutting them short."
"Eh? But isn't it hot?" He questioned, tilting his head.
"This is my penitence for what happened to Mikey's brother."
Penitence. A heavy word that even middle schoolers like them shouldn't bear something close to it. But, Chifuyu remembered that Baji and Kazutora had played with fire and got this as payment—the regret and pain of killing someone. He wanted to tell Baji that it isn't his fault nor anyone involved; they were children. They were children of immature dreams and unparalleled ambitions.
"Let's cut it, Baji."
"Huh?" Baji blinks and scratches his head.
Chifuyu stood up, "Next week, we will cut your hair."
It's his way of claiming all good things will happen to their summer break—a prayer. An assurance to Baji and a change of heart for his dwelling emotion. Chifuyu wants to help him, at least to the best of his capabilities.
"Mitsuya had messaged me that ever since Pah got in jail, Draken never missed a day of visiting him," Baji stands and takes him by the waist, moving to the couch.
Chifuyu follows him, "Oh, he did? Every day?"
"Every day and every chance that he got."
Baji lay down first, opening his arms for Chifuyu to lay atop of him, snuggling the blond closer past human capabilities. They spent a minute adjusting their tangled limbs until they find a comfortable position. A couple of minutes passed in silence, relishing in each other's presence before Chifuyu dared to break the peaceful silence.
"About Pah's arrestment, how'd it go?" turning his head to look at the black-haired boy, eyes wide with wonder.
"Fortunately, Osanai lived, so Pah only got a year to spend in jail. The bad news is that only relatives were allowed to see him." he brushes out the stray strands sticking on Chifuyu's face with a smile. Chifuyu's confused expression pulls a chuckle out of him, pinching the latter's cheek.
"If so, then how is Draken visiting him?"
"I don't know. That bastard must have had some connection with the inmates."
Chifuyu rests his chin on Baji's chest, looking up at him, "That would be cool."
Baji howls a laugh, then proceeds to smack him on the head, earning a couple of curses from him. Chifuyu had thought of revenge, but before he could even protest, Baji locked him in his arms, partaking in a game he called "Get crushed"—or something like that, he couldn't remember. He chuckles at their stupid game, still struggling to detach himself from the lad's arms. And, just when he was about to maneuver his way out, Baji's phone rang, surprising both of them.
"Why are they even intruding?" Baji gently puts him down, "Who is it this time?"
Chifuyu followed him, wrapping his arms around his boyfriend, "Is that Mistuya?"
"Yeah, and I don't know why he's calling close to midnight."
"Just answer it, fucking lazy ass."
"I'm on it," Baji catches a kiss on Chifuyu's forehead before answering the call, immediately asking the person on the other line.
"What do you mean they made up?
