Maybe, Baji's tongue really does wonders, speaking all the miracles into reality: Toman's top two making up. Though, can he be considered as an angel or a deceiving devil at this point? Chifuyu would like to find out the answer in the future because, for now, he can only think of Toman finally making up.
Baji's motorbike came to a stop, arriving at the shrine where Tokyo Manji holds their meeting. The sight welcomes them with a smile and awaiting eyes, similar to what Chifuyu used to see from them. The atmosphere around them no longer holds the electrifying tension they had last week, light and airy like the night summer breeze. However, there was still subtle awkwardness in the air, collectively silencing them and stare at each other.
"Now, that's much better than a divorced couple!" Smiley spoke, walking behind them alongside Angry.
Chifuyu chuckles at his statement, "Better than a divorced one, indeed."
"Oh, right. Sorry about that, Mucho," Smiley snickers and immediately hides behind his twin. Though tough-looking, Mucho didn't even budge on the latter's words.
"Who is the bastard that convinced these two to make up?" Chifuyu chimes amidst Smiley's teasing, standing in front of Mikey.
It wasn't a tensed question, rather a lighthearted one as he beams them a smile, taking off the awkwardness that still lingers them. It was a dire attempt Chifuyu decided on a whim to bring them all together, at least for him. They all look at him as if he had done such a crime—well, one way or another, and it causes him to erupt a nervous laugh under their gazes.
"Yeah, I'm also baffled when Mitsuya told me," Angry questioned, hands still in his pockets.
Smiley peeks from behind him, nodding to his twin, and it seems like everyone agreed with them. Even if they were best of friends, or they have been in each other's asses for a long time, their fight was nothing too shallow to suddenly make it up—without talking and discussing, of course.
"Oh, we just did," Mikey waves his hand, glee evident on his face.
"As if someone is humble enough to swallow their pride, fucking bastards," Baji clicked his tongue, going to tackle Mikey in a chokehold.
Draken sighs, scratching the back of his head, "It's Takemitchy."
Chifuyu might have caught a glimpse of the person they were talking about when he accidentally saw the duo on his way to get Peke J's food. The blond kid was following Mikey and Draken like a dog—more or less, he looked like one, snotty and weak. He wonders if that person could do magic or whatever he did that made up their leaders.
"Oh, that blond recruit," Mitsuya's eyes widen, pointing at Draken, who nods as a response.
Mucho cleared his throat, catching everyone's attention, "What's your decision about Pah's arrestment, then?"
"Respect his decision."
Mikey gazes over Draken before turning to them, "I've been selfish, and I didn't think of Pah's feelings. All I want for now is for Toman to get better, so when we can welcome him with pride when he comes home."
His statement garners shouts of agreement, stirring excitement to his captains and vice-captains after their reconciliation. Chifuyu might have been too pessimistic about their situation, and Baji was right: they made up, even without much discussion. Tokyo Manji wasn't hopeless—no, they weren't, because they had one of the best people as their leader.
"Two days from now, I'll tell the rest of Tokyo Manji of my decision."
Now, Chifuyu sat beside Baji, looking over the sea illuminated by the moon. Despite the darkness, he finally had control over his fear, and it no longer haunts him. Such a comforting feeling it was. He learns to love the moon, the stars, and the deep shade of purple in the sky. It has become his sanctuary.
"You're thinking too deep, Fuyu," Baji nudges him with his elbow, "Aren't you happy? Isn't this what you want?"
He furrows his eyebrows, "I'm happy, of course. I'm so happy that I can't help but think."
"Are you not tired from all of that thinking?"
"Just because you don't use yours-"
"I do use my head!" Baji smacks him in the head.
Chifuyu decided to return it, resulting in to exchange of insults and smacking. They went on for a couple of minutes, laughing and roasting one another as the moon watches, illuminating over them. Once they had enough, they rest in each other's arms, quietly watching the calm waves approach them.
"This is what we call peace," Baji sighs, admiring the scene before him.
Chifuyu hums, "It is, indeed."
"Ah, right! I forgot to tell you something!" Baji sat up straight, holding Chifuyu by the arm with a smile, perfectly displaying his teeth.
Chifuyu only scrunch his nose, "What?"
"Four days from now, after Mikey announces his decision to Toman, come with me to the summer festival."
