CHAPTER 9

Chapter 9: Sorted

We left the train and went to sit in a carriage to arrive at Hogwarts

This was so magical and royal

Magic, train, carriages, and the rain made everything wonderful

After some minutes, I left the carriage and saw a woman walking towards me smiling

"Miss Potter, hello, I'm Minerva McGonagall"

She was wearing a hat, rounded glasses with a black and green robe

"Hi"

"Follow me please" I waved at the golden trio and went with professor McGonagall"

I gasped as I saw the big castle

It's amazing and huge

As we entered it, I spotted lots of stairs, paintings and doors

We then stopped in front of a big one

"Okay dear, you will enter now and you'll get sorted before the first years who should be arriving any moment. Do you have any idea about the houses"

"Yes professor. Harry told me everything I need to know"

"Okay, good, you may enter now" she said smiling

The hall was big and beautiful

There was four tables placed for each house, candles floating, the sky in the night with starts as a ceiling, and the staffs table

As I was walking, I felt some eyes on me from each table

Especially from the Slytherin one

George and Fred jumped in front of me

"How are you feeling"

"Are you exited"

"Scared"

"Nervous"

"Happy"

"A little bit from everything actually"

"It's okay, we're gonna still love you even if you are in Slytherin" Fred said

That's great. At least I will not lose the best people in existence

"Okay, I have to go now, wish me luck" I said and walked to the front

A man caught my eyes. What is he doing at the teachers table.

He looked at me and smiled

I waved to him which he gladly returned

He teaches at Hogwarts

Fantastic

I turned my head and looked at another teacher apparently

He was wearing black, has black hair and was glaring at me and at Lupin

Interesting 

I gave him a fake smile which I'm sure he knew it is one then looked away

The first years are now standing and ready to get sorted

Professor McGonagall cleared her through and every one looked at her

"Before sorting the first years, a new girl is joining us this year. Treat her nicely. Anna Potter"

Everyone turned their heads at my direction like I'm sort of a ghost

People. You know I exist. Why are you looking at me like that

I walked forward and professor McGonagall put the hat on my head

"Ahh, Anna Potter, I was waiting for you" why does everyone keep telling me that, it's creepy

"Let's see, cunning. Hmm, ambitious. You will make an amazing Slytherin. But you are loyal. I see bravery, a lot of bravery, and intelligence. Difficult. You fit in all houses. Where to put you"

Come on, I know I'm in Slytherin, just say it

"I see" finally "Gryffindor"

Gryffindor? How?

Why?

The Gryffindor table start cheering loudly as I walk towards them and took a seat next to Hermione

"Anna, you're with all of us" she said looking at my smiling brother, also a smiling Ron, what can you say, a proud friend that I'm not in Slytherin, at the twins and Ginny

I gave Harry a confused look and I can tell he understood what I was trying to tell him but he shakes his head

I caught again this annoying teacher staring at me. He was now sitting next to Lupin who I can tell was trying everything to get my attention

I looked at him and saw the biggest smile a person could put on his face and I smiled back

After the sorting ceremony who took an eternity, kids from each house start singing with frogs

Impressive

Then an old man with a long white bread stepped forwards and start talking

This is Albus Dumbledore

I was thrilled to meet him

"Welcome, welcome to another year at Hogwarts. Now I'd like to say few words before we all become too befuddled by our excellent feast. First, I'm pleased to welcome professor R.J.Lupin who's kindly consented to fill the post of Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. Good luck professor" I clapped so hard with the others for professor Lupin. I am actually so excited to go to his classes

"Of course, that's why he gave you the chocolate Harry"

"Potter, Potter" I turned my head to see the same boy from the train calling me or Harry "Is it true you fainted, I mean you actually fainted"

"Shove off Malfoy" Ron said

So, Malfoy huh, this is his last name

Malfoy?

This is Malfoy, like the Draco Malfoy my brother always talks about how annoying he is

Cool

"How did he find out" Harry said clearly annoyed

"Just forget about it"

"Our care of magical Creature teacher for many years, has decided to retire. In order to spend more time with his remaining limbs. Fortunately, I'm delighted to announce that his place will be taking by none other than our own Rubeus Hagrid" Everyone clapped "Finally, on a more describing note, at the request of the Ministry of Magic, Hogwarts will until further notice play host to the dementors of Azkaban until Sirius Black is captured. The dementors will be stationed at every entrance to the grounds. Now whilst I've been assured that their presence will not disrupt our day-to-day activities. A word of caution, dementors are vicious creatures. They will not distinguish between the one they hunt and the one who gets in their way. Therefore, I must warn each and every one of you. It is not in the nature of a dementor to be forgiving but you know happiness could be found even in the darkest of times, when only remembers to turn on the light"

Wow, this man knows how to speak

I think he would make a great therapist
