Chapter 23: The Marauders Map

"Peter Pettigrew. How" I asked surprised

I remember when Harry told me about him and how Black killed him.

We walked in the empty corridors trying to find Pettigrew

There was not a single sound, except the snoring of a portrait

Even the portrait have to snore

"Put the light out" one of them said

"Sorry" Harry said

"He's in front of us Harry" I said scared

We watched the map with attention as he got closer, closer, closer. Then there is no one

"Stay behind me Anna" Harry said

"Why we haven't saw him Harry"

"I don't know"

"Do you think he also have an invisibility cloak"
"I don't know"

"Maybe he's an Animagus. A butterfly maybe, or an ant" I said as I spotted him on the map behind us

"I don't know"

"You know what Harry. Shut up" I'm literally using my brain here and he say nothing other than 'I don't know' "Look Harry. Snape is coming"

"Mischief Managed. Nox"

As the light that was coming from Harry's wand went off another one appeared

"Potters, what are you doing wondering the corridors at night"

"I was sleepwalking" Harry said

"And you where too" Snape asked looking at me with disgust

What is his problem with me anyway

"I saw him sleepwalking and was trying to wake him, but it looks like you already did the job" I sarcastically said looking at his wand "Lower it" I glared at him "Please" I smiled innocently

"You are extraordinary like your father you are Potters. Him too was exceedingly arrogant, striking around the castle"

Oh god kill me. Who does he think he is to talk that way about my father

First, he is mean to me and Harry. Then disrespectful

And heartless, we should not forget that

Especially went it comes to Professor Lupin

I opened my mouth to say something when Harry took my hand and continued "- now if you don't mind, I would appreciate it if you lowered your wand

He then pointed his wand towards Harry's pockets "Turn out your pockets" he repeated annoyed

Harry took the map out "What's this" Snape asked

"Piece of parchment" we said in union

Now it looks more believable

"Really, open it. Reveal your secrets" he said pointing his wand at the map and ordered us to read it

We hesitated at first but then read "Messrs Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs. Offer their compliments to Professor Snape and" we stopped not sure if we will continue reading

But for sure if Harry didn't I will

A chance to insult Snape and reject it

Of course not

"Go on" He ordered

As you wish

"and request that he keeps his abnormally large nose out of other people's business"

I swear to what the people who invented this map are geniuses. He deserves it

"You insult little-" he was interrupted by none other than Professor Lupin

"Well, well, Lupin. Out for a walk in the moonlight, are we" he said in a mocking way looking at him

"you really were Professor. Next time invite me" I stood next to him "The moonlight's walks are the best; boring people will never understand it" I said looking at Snape with a cold look and at a smiling Professor Lupin

"Anna, Harry, you alright" we nodded then Snape took the map aggressively from Harry

"That remains to be seen, I just found this with the Potters, take a look Lupin" he said handing him the map "it's supposed to be your area of expertise, clearly it's full of dark magic"

He took a look at it then turned to me before saying to Snape "I seriously doubt it Severus, it looks to me as a parchment to insult anyone who tries to read it" he laughed and looked at an angry Snape then continued "I suppose it's a Zonko's product. Never the less I should investigate any hidden qualities it may possess it is after all ad you said my area of expertise. Anna, Harry, would you come with me please. Professor, good night"

"Bye professor" I said waving at him with my famous fake smile

"Come here"

No one said anything until Professor Lupin opened the classroom's door

"Now I have no idea how this map came to be in your possession kids. Quite frankly, I am astounded that you didn't hand it in. You did never thought what would happen if this is in the hands of Sirius Black is a map to both of you" he yelled.

I never saw him like this but he was right

"No sir"

"Now your father never cared about rules either but he and your mother gave their lives to save yours Harry. Gambling their sacrifice by wondering around the castle unprotected with a killer on the loose seems a pretty poor way to repair them. Now I will not cover for you again. Do you hear me"

"Yes sir"

"I want you to go to your dormitories and stay there. And don't go anywhere. If you do, I shall know" he said pointing at the map

I mumbled a sorry but I don't think he heard it and followed Harry without looking at him

"Professor" Harry started "Just should you know, I don't think that this map always works, early it showed someone in the castle. Someone we know to be dead"

"Really, who may that be"

"Peter Pettigrew"

"That's not possible" said Professor Lupin shocked

"That's what I saw. Good night Professor" Harry said and walked out

"I saw it too sir"
