"I don't think this is a good idea," Caspian stated as they were all in the Forbidden Forest, searching for clues or at least something that could explain what had happened the last time they were there.

The year seven Gryffindor just wasn't so sure if going back to the scene of the crime was all that worth it. For one, you never should return to the scene of a crime in which you were potentially involved in, which they all were. Another thing is, what if the same thing happens again? Then there would be an additional unnecessary death and it would only get them one student closer to finding out who did it. But even then, was it really certain that it was one of them? Finally, they were specifically told by the headmaster himself that all students should remain on the school grounds until further notice and to stay away from the forest! Although Caspian didn't really care about the last part so much, he did care about quidditch and if they were caught out here then that could potentially be taken away from him, which couldn't happen as he is the team captain of quidditch!

"What choice do we have?! My best friend died for Merlin's sake and I have the right to know who at least did it." Ashley stopped walking once she reached the spot where Ruby's dead body was found. She could feel her eyes beginning to tear up, knowing this was going to be extremely distressing.

"You know you're not the only person who lost a best friend that night, Ash!" Louis shouted, as he was getting fed up with everything. His emotions seemed to get to the best of him, as they both missed Ruby so much.

It was always the three of them, and now their trio was down to two. Louis was scared that it would soon go back to being just him, which wasn't really a thing since he first started going to Hogwarts. Even then though, he still felt alone a good amount of the time. He was in Slytherin, while his friends were in Ravenclaw. Louis just naturally always kind of felt like the third wheel but at least then he was a part of something, as they were his very best friends. The only ones he every had really, but he loved them and they meant the world to him!

"You don't understand, Louis! She wasn't just my best friend, I-I was in love with her." Ashley confessed, sitting down on an old tree log. She looked at the ground, wiping her tears with the sleeve of her heather-grey sweater.

"I had no idea." Louis took a seat beside her. "I guess there's probably something I should tell you then, because you deserve to know. You weren't the only person that had feelings..."

Louis recalled back to the time when Ruby came crying to him one night toward the end of their fourth year:

Ruby wasn't sure who else to turn to as she obviously couldn't go to Ashley on this, so she went to Louis, who at times was easier to talk to about certain things anyway. The girl approached him only minutes away from curfew one night, with her eyes all red and puffy from crying just minutes before.

"Louis," she spoke quietly, waiting for him to look at her before continuing, "can we talk for a minute?"

"Of course! What's wrong, Rube?"

"I tried, Louis. I really, really tried. I just, I can't help it," She sobbed.

Louis' face softened, not liking when his friends were upset, but he needed to know where this was going. "What's wrong, love?"

She completely ignored the question, "H-how did you know that you weren't into girls?"

"I just never felt attracted to any. I gave it a try a couple times just to be sure, but still felt the same," he explained, "Now what's got you so upset? Did Zero do something?"
