Jim was lazily sitting on a stool in the kitchen area, leaning against a wall as he peeled potatoes. He looked over at Silver who was happily peeling the potato while whistling a merry tune, Jim couldn't help but roll his eyes at how the cyborg seemed to love giving him tedious chores such as this. He glanced at the doorway, the only way to get out of this job and be up on deck where Annie and the rest of the crew were.

Jim smirked as an idea formed in his head, he finished his potato and put it in the bin with the others as he stood up from his stool causing Silver to stop what he was doing and eye him. Jim ignored the cyborg and stretched for a couple minutes before announcing to the curious cyborg.

"I gotta go to the bathroom Silver so I'll just head out and come right back."

Jim began making his journey to the door before Silver hurriedly stood in front of him, a raised brow and both his hands on his hips. Jim could instantly tell that the cyborg was not convinced of his motive to go to the bathroom.

"Now lad, I once was a cabin boy myself. I tried pulling that trick on the cook as well." Silver said with a smirk as he thought about the good old days, Jim noticing his lapse of judgement decided he would try sneaking around the cyborg. Which caused Silver to snap out of it. "Oh no you don't Jimbo!"

Silver picked Jim up by his shoulders using both hands as he made his way over to where Jim sat before, he plopped him in his seat and grinned down at the boy who was glaring up at him furiously.

"Get to work Jimbo, then you can find that lass of yours."

Jim rolled his eyes at the man, he then began to work on another potato when he realized he couldn't escape the cyborg even if he wanted to. Jim resumed his position of lazily leaning against the wall, his eyes trailing over the potato to where Silver was sitting on his stool and then his eyes trailed up to the grate where he could see the sky and then a memory flashed before his eyes. Him and his mother were standing at the window waiting for his father to come home from his voyage, he could still feel her arms hugging him tightly when his father never showed up.

Shaking off the memory he could hear the familiar voice of Annie talking to Mr. Arrow and he couldn't help but listen in. Up on the deck Annie and Mr. Arrow were standing by the grate, he had a hand on her right shoulder as he said.

"Now when you write down your experiences on the ship for your professor, don't just write down the duties you did on the ship but the relationships you create as well."

Annie's eyes widened at this, she never thought about that and she was sure the others in her class didn't think about it either. So this was a really great way to get a good grade on her journal. Annie smiled widely as she looked up at the tall man beside her.

"Thanks Mr. Arrow, I never thought of that." Annie said as she quickly racked her brains over her encounters, good thing she also has a diary of what she's done from the start of the journey to the RLS Legacy.

"Glad to be of assistance Ms. Jones, if you need someone to go over it with you I'm more than willing to help." Mr. Arrow said with a grin of his own.

Back in the galley, Jim glanced up from the potato he was working on and at Silver. Jim watched as Silver peeled the potatoes flawlessly with his mechanical arm, he must've done this a thousand times on other ships is what Jim couldn't help but think. He leaned his head back against the wall he was against as he asked casually.

"So how long have you been doing this for?"

Silver continued peeling the potato as he questioned the boy.

"Doing what Jimbo?"

"Being a cook on a ship." Jim said as he watched Silver pause and look up at him from the potato he was peeling.

"Well since I was a young lad like yourself." Silver said with a nod of his head as he threw the peeled potato into the barrel beside him. "Why you askin' Jimbo?" Silver asked him this time with a raised brow.

Jim quickly looked back down at the potato in his hands, he couldn't exactly say that he was suspicious of him because of what Billy Bones had told him at the Inn.

"I was just wondering if you had a cook barking orders in your ear everyday." Jim said with a straight face.

Silver let out a loud laugh at what Jim said, he couldn't help but remember the good old times that he had on other ships. Without being ordered around like he was doing to this young man in front of him.

"No, but I've had some pretty ruthless captains." Silver told the teenager with a shrug of his shoulders when he saw the look on Jim's face. "I was young and I had nowhere to go, so what was I to do?" He asked rhetorically.

It became silent between the two of them, as they began to peel their potatoes once more. Jim couldn't help but wonder what kind of ruthless captains Silver had met in his lifetime, and if some of those captains were pirates. He glanced up at the grate again catching a glimpse of Annie and Mr. Arrow walking away, he couldn't help but yearn to follow after her and to get to know her more than just embarrassing himself in front of her. He sighed and focused back on the potato in his hands.

Silver looked over at him before looking up at the grate and watched as Annie walked away. Silver couldn't help but grin at this, he could also keep the boy busy with this little girl as well. He smirked as he asked with a laugh already knowing the answer.

"Do you like Ms. Jones?"

Jim dropped the potato he was peeling and stared at Silver with wide eyes, before he glared at him realizing that he might do something if he made a fool out of himself. So he decided to be aloof about it.

"Yeah she seems like a good friend." He answered with a shrug of his shoulders as he picked up the potato and began peeling once more.

"Oh?" Silver hummed out with a raised brow, he nodded to himself as he said. "I just thought you's had a connection is all."

Jim slowed down with his peeling as he glanced over at Silver, as he said with a straight face.

"Well friends can have good connections too."

Silver couldn't help but let out a laugh, Jim rolled his eyes at this knowing now that Silver wouldn't believe him.

"Okay Jimbo, friends have that connection that you have with that lass." Silver laughed out as he finished his barrel of potatoes.

Silver picked up the barrel of potatoes and moved over to the kitchen counter where there was a ton of pans, he started putting some potatoes on it as he placed the finished pan in the oven before continuing on to the next. Jim slumped down the wall he was leaning against, why did Silver even ask that. Now that's all he's going to think about, not like he's already thought of Annie like that. Silver couldn't help but smirk as he thought to himself that he was definitely going to make sure Annie and his Jimbo spent some time together when he had to talk to his crew about different plans for the munity.
