Another day came and Annie smiled at Jim as she stood beside him, they were talking about the book the Voldbergs Unexpected Journey and the two couldn't help but say how amazing the book was. Delbert watched the two from the top deck, he decided that to get closer to Jim he should try to teach him a few things about astrology, and the person that could get him there was Annie.
Delbert nodded his head and with confidence walked towards the Captain's quarters, he knocked on the door confidently and heard Amelia say to come in. Delbert took in a deep breath and walked into the Captain's quarters. He stood there confidently ready to show Amelia that he wasn't a bumbling fool, until his eyes met hers.
"Yes Doctor?" Amelia questioned as she saw the poor man looking nervous and shy.
"Well I, uh....." He stuttered out nervously as he began to rub his heel into the ground. "I was floundering, I mean wondering if I could teach Jim and Annie astrology?"
Amelia paused for a moment, putting her pen down and looking down at the papers on her desk. It would benefit her and Mr. Arrow to get more time to work in the crew, and it would also benefit Annie to learn from a real doctor of astrology. Amelia also knew it would keep the cabin boy even more busy, and he would follow any orders Annie gave him.
"Of course Doctor, what a brilliant idea." Amelia said as she nodded her head in agreement as she suggested to the man. "Why don't you go see if Silver needs Jim for anything, if he doesn't take Annie and him to the medical room and you can teach them there."
"Really!?" Delbert exclaimed, shocked that the confident woman agreed to something he said. "Why...I'll go do that now. Thank you Captain, I won't let you down."
Delbert quickly made his way to the galley, happy that he had the chance to get into Jim's good graces. Explaining the situation to Silver he couldn't help but agree and that's where Jim and Annie were for a week straight, sitting on a med bed listening to Delbert rant about astrology. For the most part Annie enjoyed listening to the doctor, Jim on the other hand would rather be anywhere else but he didn't want to go back and do more gruelling chores for Silver.
"Now a shooting star will be passing by us tonight, can anyone tell me why the dust of the shooting star is important and what we can use it for?" Delbert questioned the two teenagers, looking at them with happiness.
Annie smiled back at the man, thinking back to what Delbert said a couple days ago about shooting stars. Jim rolled his eyes and huffed in annoyance, crossing his arms over his chest he leaned his back against the wall and looked at the wall behind Delbert.
"Well we can use the stardust for a lot of things like using the light of the stardust for a lamp. Some of the fashion people actually use it to make their dresses glow, it lasts for infinity." Annie said as she looked up at Delbert for praise.
"Correct Annie!" Delbert smiled widely and nodded his head excitedly as he exclaimed happily. "We also use the frost of the star for food purposes, like on Montressor we use it for purp ice cream."
Jim perked up at that, he never knew that purp ice cream was actually frost from a shooting star. Delbert's smile widened even more when he noticed that he caught the boys attention.
"That's where it came from, that's so cool." Jim said with a small smile.
"And it sounds good." Annie added on with a nod, now that they were talking about ice cream she was hungry for it.
"Well Silver will be going out in a couple of minutes to go get some of it." Delbert said as he crossed his arms behind his back and rocked on his heels as he went on weekly. "Uh, well class is over. Annie, I believe Amelia wants you for something."
