Orders and Dares

Jim and Annie were on the deck a few weeks later, excitedly looking at the planet they were about to dock on. Annie had planned with Captain Amelia and Mr. Arrow, to dock here and restock their food and water, and the girl couldn't help but be excited to finally help out with finding the food and to see some new culture. Jim was excited to just get away from the ship he's constantly cleaned for the last two months, he was beyond ready to do something other than just clean. Jim smiled widely down at Annie as he said.

"Are you ready to explore?"

"Of course I'm ready to explore." Annie scoffed at the boy as she nudged his shoulder playfully as she teased Jim. "But I'm not sure you're ready, cabin boy."

"Oh don't be so full of yourself Annie, I'm more ready than you are." Jim teased back as he sling his arm around her shoulder and pulled the girl closer to his side.

"Look who's being cocky now." Annie laughed out as she pushed Jim away from her.

Jim let Annie go and laughed as well, their moment of fun was interrupted when both of the teenagers' names were called.

"Annie!" Mr. Arrow called to the young girl from the state room door.

"Jimbo!" Silver called from the galley stairs.

Annie and Jim both turned to look over at the handlers and sighed, Annie turned to look at Jim at the same time Jim turned to look at her. They both smiled at each other as Annie said softly to him.

"I'll see you when we reach the docks I guess."

"Yeah, I'll see you at the docks." Jim agreed, he watched Annie walk away from him before his eyes widened and he called out to the girl. "Hey, why don't we explore the town together."

Annie looked over her shoulder at the boy and flashed him a grin that he couldn't help but return as she said.

"It's a deal. See you later Jim."

Annie ran up the stairs to meet with Mr. Arrow and Jim ran over to the galley to meet with Silver, both teenagers not knowing that once they dock they weren't allowed off the ship. Annie was in the State Room sitting down in a chair as Captain Amelia looked at her sternly as she told the girl.

"Now Annie, I know your excited to join Mr. Arrow and I on this supply run but I'm afraid we've both agreed that you're not ready for this yet."

"What?!" Annie yelled as she glared at Captain Amelia then Mr. Arrow, she stood up from her seating position and began to pace as she said to her mentors. "I'm the one who planned this supply run, I even found some shops to get our supplies from. I should be allowed to go, I'm more than ready enough."

"Now Annie, what Amelia is trying to say is. That we're both concerned that this planet is a little too rough for you." Mr. Arrow calmly said resting a hand on the girl's shoulder to stop her from pacing.

"It's filled to the brim of bad characters for you and the young cabin boy." Captain Amelia told the girl sternly as she folded her fingers together on her desk and stared at the girl.

"I know what kind of planet this is, I picked it out." Annie cried out with anger, as she pointed a finger at herself.

"Annie." Mr. Arrow scolded as he gripped the girl's shoulder a little harder, not enough to harm her but to give a warning. "We're just worried, please listen to us all we want to do is keep you safe."

Annie opened her mouth ready to object, but she closed it instantly. The girl knew that Mr. Arrow and Captain Amelia always wanted to keep her safe, after they first met her and she knew that she couldn't go against their wishes. After all what Mr. Arrow said is true, they couldn't be worrying about her on such a sketchy planet like this one.
