unfamiliar feeling

Y/N's POV:
The soft graces of sunlight tickled my body as my eyes slowly fluttered open. I rolled out of bed and checked the time. It was early, too early for me, but I dismissed the horrid groggy feeling and got ready for school. Even after showering and going through my morning routine I felt miserable, already not looking forward for the day ahead. A small click of my door indicated that it was closed and I slowly made my way the dining hall.
For some reason I couldn't shake the feeling of being watched, even as I looked around and saw most students focused on study books or their phones.
I couldn't really enjoy my breakfast, but it wasn't like I've ever enjoyed the bland limited selection Northlake offers. Once I reluctantly scoffed down my meal I headed to the bathrooms and quickly brushed my teeth.
Exiting the bathroom, I jumped at the sudden appearance of Cassie. "Hi Y/n," she smiled, grabbing a hold of my arm as we walked to the lockers.
"Oh, hi Cas," I breathed in respond, eyeing her claws that were digging into my blazer.
"I didn't see you most of the party. Did you leave early?" She asked, not making eye contact with me.
"Yeah, I did." I stated and she hummed in response, staying silent for a few seconds that caused a thick tension to develop between us.
We made our way to the lockers and eventually Cassie started speaking again about matters I wasn't very concerned with, so I only half listened. I rolled my eyes at her constant rambling and opened up my locker. My hands froze as I looked at the crisp letter laying in my locker once again.
"Another one?" I thought, eyeing the letter curiously. I had completely forgotten about the last letter, my time consumed by the party yesterday. I smiled and reached inside to pick up the letter until I heard the voice of Cassie behind me.
"What's that?" She asked, raising an eyebrow as she peeked over my shoulder.
It was times like this I was glad she was shorter than me. "Nothing." I quickly stated, grabbing my books and shutting it.
"Was it a love letter?" Cassie asked again, her voice laced with an emotion I couldn't quite pin point.
"No, it's just a note to myself," I lied between my teeth. "To remind me of the tests coming up."
"Right" Cassie scoffed. "No one would actually give you a love letter."
I pulled my face into a smile, even though it hurt.
.
.The rest of the day went past as usual and the feeling of being watched dismissed itself. I occasionally thought about it when I was bored, but chalked it up to being paranoid. A bigger thing on my mind was the letter, and as the last few minutes of the day ticked by, my anticipation increased.
The sound of the bell rang throughout the large school, and students quickly packed away their stationary, me included. I was about to jump out of my desk and run out the classroom when the sounds of a brunette next to me halted my actions.
"Wait," Scarlett pleaded, quickly stuffing her belongings in her pencil case. "Please wait for me."
A sigh left my lips as I reluctantly agreed. After a minute or two she was finally finished and gave me a large smile. "Thank you, Y/n." Her hand intertwined with mine as she lead us out the classroom.
We eventually parted ways to reach our individual lockers. I opened the rusty door and pulled out the letter, pealing off the heart sticker and opening the seal, catching a whiff of a oddly familiar scent.
"Is that my perfume?" I thought to myself, and sniffed the card again, the sweet scent blessing my nostrils, confirming it was my perfume. A soft "huh," left my mouth as I applauded my secret admirer's taste in perfume.
To Y/N,
You looked stunning at the party yesterday, that outfit complemented you perfectly. I wish I had the courage to go up to you.
From,
Your secret admirerJust as I finished reading the note a high pitched squeal caused me to jump. I quickly spun around to see Scarlett right behind me, reading over my shoulder.
"You have a secret admirer?" She beamed, she hands clasped together.
"No. So stop talking so loudly." I hushed her, stuffing the letter in my blazer pocket. I didn't know why I was embarrassed of it, but I never really received attention from others.
"Omg, it totally was. I saw it! You looked stunning at the party yesterday." Scarlett mimicked, perking her lips together and fluttering her eyes at me.
A soft smile made its way to my face before I remembered the situation. "Please don't tell anyone." I whispered, knowing the whole group would poke fun at me for years.
Scarlett nodded enthusiastically. "I swear on my life I won't." She said, crossing her hands over her heart. But we haavve~ to talk about this, and you have to text me every time you get a new one."
I agreed with the conditions, not at all expecting to actually go through with it. I sighed watching Scarlett's fleeting figure who seemed a bit too enthused. I took the letter out of my pocket, my eyes glancing over the words again.
"Why do I feel like this isn't going to end well?"
