Y/N's POV:

"You going to the party tonight?" Scarlett asked as we walked to our History classroom together, weaving in between the crowds of other students.

I shrugged my shoulders, not entirely wanting to attend a party in the middle of the week. Scarlett nudged me. "You should, it'll be fun!" I smiled at her passion as we neared the classroom.

"I might if you save my spot while I go to the bathroom," I winked, handing her.

"Hmm, maybe if you're quick."

We split as I made my way bathroom, my mind occasionally wandering to the weekend's antics.  I entered and looked at myself in the bathroom.

"Maybe I need to change more about myself?" I thought, turning my head and further admiring my face before the bathroom door loudly swung open. I flinched at the sudden noise, my hands falling from my face as I turned around to meet a very displeased face.

"Veronica?" I questioned, backing away slightly as I sensed something dark brooding inside of the girl. She then decided to take two steps forward, getting a little too close for comfort.

Veronica's blonde wavy hair was neatly placed just above her shoulders, completed with a simple pearl clip. She had hazel brown eyes and a very narrow face that was currently held in a stern scowl. Her uniform was worn to perfection, with only a small golden badge differentiating her from other students. "Did you go on a date with Killian," she questioned, getting her face closer to mine.

As I looked into her eyes I tried to process her words. "What? Where did you hear-"

"Is it true?" Veronica interrupted, getting closer to me and causing me to take more steps back. Eventually I hit the bathroom wall but that didn't discourage her to stop walking.

Realising the state of the situation I quickly spoke. "No! No it isn't true. We bumped into each other on the weekend, but that was it. We never went on a date."

Veronica's eyes stared into mine before she looked be up and down. The entrance to the bathroom swung open and I thought I was saved. "Leave," Veronica bellowed and the student quickly turned around and left without an ounce of hesitation.

"I want you to stop talking to him," she said, her nose almost touching mine. "I've noticed you two have become very close recently and I don't like it. I have known Killian my whole life, so back off. "

At her words I tried to think of a time I saw them interact with each other, but my mind was coming up blank. Suddenly a sharp pain pricked my scalp as Veronica held a fistful of hair in her hand.

"So will you stay away from him?" She asked, a condescending and arrogant tone lacing her words. When she was met with no response she pulled my hair tighter and I winched, finally agreeing. She let go of my hair harshly, leaving me puffing as she dusted off her uniform.

"Good." With those words she left the bathroom, leaving me to myself as I let my body sink to the cold bathroom floor.

"It's like Westbrook all over again," I cried, covering my face into my palms as I sunk deeper into the bathroom floor, wishing it would consume me entirely.

I walked into biology, the subject I regretted the whole day as it was the only one I had with Killian, as I didn't have art on that day. My eyes met and he smiled before I took a seat in front of him.

Halfway through the class I felt a tap on my shoulder, but I decided not to turn around, wishing he'd just go away after a while. But he didn't and eventually I turned around.

"Is something wrong?" He asked and I simply shook my head in response before turning back around. I heard a little puff release from Killian before I focused my attention back on the teacher.

"For our next assessment, I've decided to make a project," he stated, earning various positive and negative reactions from the students. "It's a partner project so I trust that you'll make your own groups and then I will explain the process."

I inwardly groaned, biting the inside of my cheek as I peered to the students in the class as they hastily got up and found their partners. I prepared myself to ask if I could go by myself before Killian's voice from beside me interrupted my thoughts.

"Can we go together?" He asked, and my heart strings were pulled when I noticed his nervous state.

"Veronica will kill me," I muttered, and Killian's eyebrows furrowed.

"What?" His voice was dark and his eyes pierced into mine. I opened my mouth to respond but the teacher interrupted.

"I see you've all found your groups, so now sit down. These will be your seating plan for the next month." I tuned his annoying voice out as I stared out the window.

"She probably won't do anything. I mean she's the student president, it'll ruin her reputation." I bit my fingers in thought. "Who am I kidding, no one would even bat an eye if she shoved my head in a locker."

"Y/N?" Killian's voice pulled me out my thoughts. "Mr Smith told us to discuss what animal's life cycle we wish to discuss."

A soft "oh" left my lips in response.

"Is everything ok? What were you saying about Veronica," he asked, his voice slightly more hushed.

"Nothing. It was nothing, really. She just," I started, but realised there was no point. "Never mind". I noticed his eye twitch, but he didn't pry and began talking about biology.

As he spoke I could only think of the reaction Veronica would have when she finds out we're project partners.

"I'm fucked."
