Y/N's POV:
I sighed and wiped my eyes tiredly as I made my way to my locker, wishing it was still the weekend. I smiled slightly at the small letter laying in my locker. I picked up the letter and slowly removed the heart sticker on the seal, but my smile faltered at the contents of the letter.
Dear Y/N,
I like you, a lot. I love you, even. But I feel like you've being hanging around those friends of yours too much. They're bad for you and I know that you know it. I've been trying but I just can't understand why you'd stick with people like that.
Is it because of your relationship with your parents? Or is it because of what happened at your old school?
Please take care, and spend less time with them. Not just for me, but for you too.Love,
Your secret admirer.I slammed my locker shut, my breathing heavy and I stared at nothing in particular. My hand covered my mouth and by teeth clashed against my lips anxiously. "How.." I shook, "how does he know about my old school?"
I scrunched up the letter tightly as a million thoughts ran through my mind and I could no longer control the shaking of my body. "Does he know them?"
"Y/N!" I jumped and inwardly groaned at the sight of Scarlett, Yuri and Cassie, who were chatting happily to each other. Scarlett hopped over and noticed the scrunched up letter in my hand.
"Oou, another letter from the secret admirer huh?" Scarlett giggled, and I glared at her to which she quickly shut up.
"Is something wrong?" Yuri inquired as her and Cassie neared me. I shook my head in response, pushing down the lump rapidly forming in my throat.
"Really?" Cassie challenged, "because you look like shit."
"Thanks for the observation," I sarcastically spat, clenching my fists as I quickly thought of an excuse. "I didn't get much sleep."
"We can see that," Cassie retorted and I bit my tongue in response.
"What class do you have?" Yuri asked, turning to Scarlett and diverting the conversation, which I was endlessly grateful for as it gave me more time to gather myself.
"English, sadly."
"What about you Y/n?" Yuri asked now turning toward me.
"We have art," Cassie said, her hand wrapped around my arm. "And it's time we get going, come on," she stated as she dragged me away from Yuri and Scarlett.
"Do you think Kaito will be there today?" Cassie asked as he's been sick for the past week.
"I'm not sure, he hasn't been here in a w-" I didn't get the chance to finish my sentence as Cassie had let go of my arm and eagerly made her way to her pray, hugging him.
"Kaito!" She squealed. "I was getting so worried about you."
Kaito smiled greeting her and making no efforts to push the blond off.
"It's been so long, I've missed you so much. Class is so boring without you," she whined and I tried to not take her statement to heart as I left the couple and walking into the art classroom alone.
My mind still wandered to the letter as I put my belongings on the bench and strolled over to where everyone else was grabbing their unfinished paintings. This term in art we were told to paint using pieces of nature. I lethargically looked for my painting before a felt a cold sensation grace my hand momentarily. I turned around and raised my eyebrows.
"Killian, you're in this class?"
He hummed softly and handed me his painting. "I have been since the start of the year."
I nodded, feeling a tad bit guilty for not noticing him. I was usually tangled in whatever mess Cassie or my other friends had for me so I found it hard to notice and make friends with others. I placed my stuff down at my station before moving to his, not wishing to be alone.
"Have you been reading anything lately?" I asked, not entirely sure how to start a conversation.
"I'm just re-reading old books, but currently it's-"
"Y/n, it's been a while," a green eyed-boy interrupted, showcasing his pearly whites. "Can you tell me what I've missed?"
"Uuh sure," I agreed, not entirely sure why he couldn't of just asked Cassie. As I walked off with Kaito I glanced at Killian who wore an unreadable, dull expression, mostly directed at Kaito.
We made our way to his station, which was right next to Cassie's, who's was right next to mine. "Miss said the theme was a very important part of the project, so we developed a colour palette," I explained and Kaito nodded, his eyes focused on my work. I couldn't help but feel a burning sensation at the back of my neck, but when I turned around I only saw students chatting to each other or focused on their paintings. "Um, and now we're doing a backdrop for-"
Before I could finish I was interrupted by a little scene. I wasn't entirely sure how it happened but Kaito was standing up, in shock as he was covered in paint.
"What the hell?" Kaito shouted, who jumped out of his seat and turned toward the culprit, which so happened to be Killian.
"I'm so sorry, I really didn't mean to," Killian worriedly exclaimed, trying to wipe off some of the paint scattered all over Kaito.
As commotion started all around Kaito, less focus was placed upon Killian. I turned to look at the brunette and for a split second I swear I saw a small hint of a smirk beginning to rise on his face, which quickly went away after he noticed me staring. He walked over to me, eyes flicking back and forth from me and Kaito.
"I feel so bad," he mumbled, fiddling with his fingers.
"I'm sure it's ok, it was an accident." I comforted him, patting his shoulder. "Kaito will get over it."
We both looked back at the chaos behind us, seeing Cassie clinging to Kaito's arm and trying to get him to move.
"Come on, I'll take you to the office to get you a change of clothes."
"I can go on my own Cas," he stated, but she didn't listen to his words as she dragged him with her out of the classroom.
As Kaito was dragged out of the classroom he turned back to us, his eyes focused on Killian, to which he smiled in response. I cocked my head confused by the act but quickly forgot after the teacher beckoned us to get back to our seats.
"That was weird."
