party
( .˳⁺⁎˚ ꒰ఎ ♡ ໒꒱ ˚⁎⁺˳ . )Y/N's POV:
A sharp pain spiked my head, the poor mix of shouting teenagers and loud music causing a headache to scream inside my mind. I looked around the room, my eyes wandering from the various groups of people, finally landing on my very social brunette friend. I took a small sip from my cup, which held my fourth cup of punch.
"What are you doing here?" I flinched at the sudden question by an unknown voice. I turned toward the tall figure standing close to me. My eyes were fuzzy, so I stepped back, not recognising the person in front of me. "Sorry If I scared you," he spoke again, his voice soothing the aching pain coursing through my skull.
"It's.. um - it's ok," as I spoke my eyesight improved and I finally took in my companion's face. "Oh, Killian!"
He smiled at me for a bit before reaching out and taking my cup from my hands. "You do know this has alcohol in it, right?" He inquired and my eyes widened. "God Y/N, how many cups have you had."
I held what I thought was the number four with my fingers, but I wasn't entirely sure if that's what I actually put up. Despite the loud ringing in my ears and music blasting through the house, I could still hear a heavy sigh leave the handsome man's lips.
A sudden burning sensation made its way from my stomach to my throat and I tried desperately to push it down. A soft hand on arm made me look up and into Killian's eyes.
"Are you ok Y/n?"
"God you're just everywhere," I hiccupped, earning a head tilt from Killian. "How am I supposed to 'stay away' from you when I see you everywhere I go?" I spouted, the burning sensation coming back and causing me to gag.
"I think you need some fresh air" Killian stated, his usually calm face holding an expression of concern and slight annoyance? I nodded slowly, not wanting to risk speaking.
I let his slender finger's wrap around my wrist and drag me through the hordes of sweaty teenagers. I relished his cold touch while my body was felt like it was on fire. As we made our way outside I didn't fully notice a pair of green eyes watching us.
When we finally made our way outside, a disgusting mix of foods and drinks poured from my mouth. Killian immediately came by my side, holding the my hair as more liquid came out.
After a while, the horrid wrenching noise stopped. I stood in the same hunched-over position, waiting a few seconds before rising. Killian took a few steps back, giving the me some much appreciated space.
"Sorry.." I started, ignoring the feeling of thorns in my throat. "I'm not a very good drinker."
Killian offered me a pity smile as he spoke softly. "It's fine, Y/N."
I studied Killian's face, my eyes grazing over every defining feature. Killian cocked his head. "Is something wrong?"
"No, no, there isn't, sorry. I'm just-", as I tried to finish my sentence a soft noise from behind us drifted both mine and Killian's attention.
"Kaito?" I spoke, staring at the boy in front of her as I cleared my throat.
Kaito lightly smiled as he pushed past Killian to be by my side. His hands wrapped around my forearms as he spoke. "Are you ok? I saw you getting dragged outside," he worriedly said, glancing at Killian, who bore a emotionless expression.
Before any words could come out by either of the two males or me, another presence joined the group."Kaito, I was looking for you," an unfortunately familiar voice whined.
As Cassie walked closer to Kaito, she noticed me and Killian other people. "What are you guys doing here?" She asked, raising an eyebrow.
"I puked," I admitted, not knowing what else to say as I shuffled my feet.
Cassie laughed, latching onto Kaito's arm, breaking the bond between him and me as she dragged him further away from me. "You were never good with alcohol."
I nodded and stepped closer to Killian, who rubbed my back in support.
"Let's go back inside," Cassie suggested, tugging lightly on Kaito's arm.
Kaito stood still, not paying attention to the parasite latching onto him. His eyes travelled to Killian, then moved to mine. "Is there something going on between you two?" He asked, surprising both of us and Cassie.
Killian finally showed some emotion as his eyes widened and quickly glanced at me, who held an equally confused expression. My half-drunk self was not qualified enough for this situation.
"No! There's nothing between us," I finally exclaimed, pushing down another mix of bile, alcohol, and food that threatened to leave my body. Nervous, I looked over at Killian, who simply stared into my eyes.
Kaito glanced at Killian, staring at him for a few moments before scoffing and going back to the party with Cassie quickly following behind. I turned to Killian, who was already facing me. My heartbeat increased and the air felt thin, each breath I took felt heavy and loaded. I was unsure what to say as I attempted to ignore the pulsing pain coursing through my mind.
After what seemed like an eternity, Killian decided to speak. "I.." he started, "I want there to be something between us," he whispered.
My breath hitched and the sound of my heartbeat overpowering my thoughts. I tried to speak, but nothing came out. Killian watched my reaction, unsure how to take it. He eventually reached out tucking a piece of h/c hair behind my red ears. His hand hovered before reluctantly letting go. He let out a small sigh before heading back to the party.
I watched his fleeting figure, numerous feelings washing over me. After Killian was no longer in sight I turned around, staring at the ground in thought while biting my chapped lips. Before I could think any longer a familiar burning liquid started to rise up my throat.
I groaned in annoyance right before the continents of my past meals spilled out my mouth yet again.
