Chapter 1/1

(Well, this is inconvenient)

I'd been manding my own business, doing some shopping in town...

When I was surrounded by a bunch of men, held down, bound with ropes, and then whisked away to some random shack.

Thug

"Don't be mad as us, little lady. It's your own fault. If you weren't Masamune Date's woman, we wouldn't have kidnapped you!"

Mitti

"Riiiiight. It's not your fault you kidnapped me. You couldn't help it. Sure. Also, that's not the terminalogy we're going with."

Thug

"Whatever". It's hardly our fault you're so obviously the easiest way to lure him in. Today's the day we finally get our revenge!"

To be honest, the fear of being kidnapped was dulled by the knowledge that Masamune would surely come for me.

(I feel bad that Masamune's going to have to take the time out of this busy day to come and pick me up, but...)

(When will people realize that Picking a fight with someone whose moniker contains the word 'dragon' is a bad idea?)

I'd been tied up for a while, and was entertaining myself imagining what kind of grudge these men could have against Masamune when-

Masamune

"Mitti! You hanging in there, lass?!"

The door of the shack was thrown open and Masamune charged in.

Mitti

"Masamune! That was fast!"

Thug

"So the rumors were true. You really do love this woman wnough to charge headlong into a trap for her."

Masamune

"If you don't wish for me to end your pitful fives immediately, you will release her at once. And even then, no promises."

Masamune stared the men down, the lock in his eye pure ice.

Thug

"Yeah, well, there's only one way we're letting this woman go..."

"And that's over your dead body!"

I would have rolled my eyes, but the men were drawing their swords and I still had some vestiges of self-preservation in me.

Once the men were distracted with battling Masamune, though, I set my mind to finding a way to escape. However...

(Masamuns's actually pretty outnumbered, here, it would probably be better if he came back with reinforcements.)

Mitti

"Masamune, save yourself! Leave me!"

Thug

"Shut it, woman!"

Mitti

"You shu-Ow!"

The man grabbed me by the hair and held his blade to my throat, breaking the skin a bit.

Masamune's eye went wide with worry, and I began to feel genuinely anxious that the distraction would be detriment al to him.
