Masamune

"I would not give up these recovered memories for anything."

"I vowed my future to you. That will never change."

"You are the only one whose future I have ever wished to keep for myself."

Mitti

"It's yours. Forever and for always."

I kissed him, then, for the nth time that day, clenching my fingers in his kimono tug him nearer.

Calloused fingers traced my arm from shoulder to wrist, leaving goosebumps in their wake.

(This is all I need. Nothing can beat this happiness.)

(I want to brand the feel of Masamune's fingers onto my skin.)

Slowly, painstakingly, Masamune took hold of my sash and began undoing the intrincate bow.

My focus narrowed to that single point, my breath catching with every action of those clever hands.

Masamune

"You're awfully quiet. Do you still not believe that I remember you?"

Mitti

"That's not it. I was focusing."

Masamune

"On what?"

Mitti

"How your hands feel when they touch me. When they start to take me apart, piece by piece."

Masamune moved closer to murmur into my ear.

Masamune

"Focus all you like, but I want to hear you."

Then, there was a sharp, stinging sensation as he bit down on my earlobe.

Mitti

"Ah! Hey! You're not playing fair!"

Masamune pulled back with a feline grin as the last knot on my sash came free, and he pulled it away with a flourish.

The grin was so triumphant and so full of affection that I couldn't help but dissolve into happy giggles.

My Masamune was back, and in my arms- and being his old, ridiculous self.

(He was never this open around me when he didn't remember me. He's back to trusting himself with me again.)

I looked up, líquid joy pumping through my veins, to see that same happiness reflected in Masamune.

Mitti

"I love you, you reckless hothead."

Masamune

"And I you, my fierce kitten."

"In truth, I'm glad I didn't go too far when I didn't have my memories."

Masamune ran a hand through my hair.

Masamune

"Regardless of whether you would have allowed it or not..."

"If I had held you like this without knowing who you were, I would never be able to forgive myself."

"You're too special to be with someone who doesn't fully appreciate you..."

"For as long as I live, I will thank whatever instint it was that stopped me from going through with it."
