After awhile, when I thought Peeta already left, I was about to leave my room when I hear a knock at my front door. I then hear Gale say in a very unpleasant voice, " Where's katniss?", who I assume to be Peeta answers back, " In her room.". Gale continues with, "Who are you?", Peeta introduces himself and Gale grunts in response. I hear the front door slam and a few seconds later there was a knock at my bedroom door, luckily it was Gale.

"Are you okay?", Gale ask me.

"I'm fine.", I lie.

"Good, I hear yelling, so I got worried.", He gives me a small smile. I appreciate him coming to check on me, but he could have chose a better time. He stays over until he is positive I'm okay and leaves, but not before he makes me promise to come get him if I need anything.

I finally get some alone time, so I head to the kitchen to get the brownies and when I get to the kitchen I see some money on the counter under the box with the brownies in it. I eye it suspiciously and pick it up and count it out and it comes out to be the exact amount I paid for the brownies. I suddenly feel sick because even though I wasn't the nicest person to him and didn't let him explain himself, he still paid me back. Goes to show how much of a nice and caring person Peeta still is.

I contemplate calling Peeta to thank him and apologize, but I wasn't sure I had the right number. I mean, it's been 3 years after all. So, I take a long shot and call the bakery instead. It rings for about a minute and then Mrs. Mellark picks up. Uh, that definitely not who I wanted.

"Mellark's bakery! How may I help you?", she says happily. Everyone in town knows just how evil this woman can be, so I know it's just for show.

"Uhm, hi. Is Peeta there?", I hope she doesn't recognize my voice because she'd probably hang up. She never like me and I never cared for her either. We spent the entire length of mine and Peeta's relationship avoiding each other. It was for the best, honestly.

"May I ask who's calling?", quick Katniss, think of something!

"Oh, it's Madge! I went to high school with Peeta and I heard he was back in town, so I wanted to see how he was doing!", let's pray this works.

"Well, alright. I'll go get him.", success! A few minutes later I hear shuffling on the other side of the phone and then Peeta picks up.

"Uh, Madge, you still there?", he ask.

"Hey Peeta, it's me, Katniss."

"Katniss? Why are you calling?", Peeta sounds exhausted and I feel to blame.

"I'm just, uh, calling to let you know I got the money you left. Thank you, but why did you pay me back?", he should know that I don't like special treatment.

"I did it because I was trying to be nice. ", Oh, god. I bet he feels so uncomfortable. Should I change the subject or just say bye? I don't want him to think I'm ungrateful.

"Are you still there, Katniss?", Peeta says drawing me out of my daze.

"Yeah, sorry.", I hear him sigh and I prepare for what he is about to say.

"Listen, I'm sorry for what happened tonight and I want you to know that it wasn't my intention to get in a fight with you.", then what was your intention, Peeta?

"It's okay, Peeta."

"No, it's not. I wasn't myself and I need to make it up to you. What do you say if we go on a picnic tomorrow? I'll make your favorite!", I imagine him smirking at that because he knows I'll never pass up lamb stew.

"Well, I have to get Prim by 4:30, so we can go anytime before that.", I stammer out. Hopefully this time will be different.

"I'll be there by 11:30 to get you.",
