Summary:
Regressor Kirk age 2-3
Caregiver McCoy
Jim needs to be little and Leonard takes care of him.
This can be read as TOS or AOSLeonard looked up from his PADD when he heard the door to the sick bay slide open. It wasn't uncommon for someone to come in with some sort of injury or sickness, usually minor, so close to the end of his shift. What was uncommon was for it to be Captain Kirk.
The captain avoided the sick bay like it was the disease, unless it was to check on a member of his crew. For a physical or his own injuries, Jim almost never came to the sick bay of his own free will.
The captain smiled, "Bones."
"Jim." Leonard said, nodding at the captain, "I assume you didn't come here for nothing, and given your distaste for doctors, my guess would be you want something from me."
"I um... Is it only us here?" Jim asked.
"Yes. I excused Chapel for the evening already."
Jim nodded and looked around the room, "Alright." He mumbled, trying to keep his gaze away from the doctor.
"Jim," Leonard sighed, "I can't help you if you don't tell me what you need."
Jim hesitated, he looked down fiddling with his fingers to distract himself from the question he was about to ask, "Can you... Could you take care of me tonight? I really need to be little right now."
Leonard set down his PADD. He should have expected this, seen the way that Jim had been acting, but he had completely missed it. Of course part of him knew that it wasn't his fault, there was no real way he could have known for certain without Jim telling him, but he couldn't help but feel bad for not noticing that Jim needed to regress.
"Of course, darlin'." Leonard said, "Go on back to your room and get changed into some pajamas. I'll be there in a few minutes when I've finished my work."
"Thank you Bones." Jim said, smiling softly, his voice sounding much smaller than before.
Leonard couldn't help but smile when Jim left the sickbay, clearly more relaxed already than when he had first arrived. He finished the last of his paper work as quickly as he could without risking a mistake and headed off for his own room to change. He hated to leave Jim alone for so long when the boy was regressed, but he needed to get cleaned up before he could take care of him.
Once he was finally clean and in a comfy pair of sweats and plain t-shirt, Leonard walked into the captain's room to find Jim sitting on the floor. The boy was wearing his favorite puppy onesie, with a little dog ear hood, and coloring on a few sheets of scrap paper with his crayons. His tongue sticking out the slightest bit, Jim says it helps him focus. Leonard smiled at the sight. He didn't say a word, not wanting to break Jim's concentration.
"Bones!" Jim cheered, when he noticed the man, "Hi Bones! You're Here!"
"Hi Jimmy." Leonard smiled, "Yes, I'm here."
"You taked forever! I missed you." Jim said, his lips forming a notable pout.
Leonard hated those puppy dog eyes of his, he was glad the Jim hadn't caught onto the fact that he would do anything the boy asked as long as he was making that pouty face at him, "I'm sorry. Next time I'll try to get here a little bit faster."
"I made you pictures! Wanna see?" Jim asked, pointing to where he had been coloring on the floor.
"Of course I do." Leonard said, following the regressed boy to the messy pile of papers and crayons.
Jim plopped down in front of his art and shoved a small stack of papers towards Leonard. He grinned at the man, anxiously chewing on his knuckle while Leonard looked through the drawings.
Jim interrupted when he saw one drawing that he had been particularly proud of, "That's you and me!" He said, pointing to the messy stick figures.
Leonard wrapped his arm around Jim's shoulder and pulled him close into his side, "It's beautiful, Jimmy."
Jim giggled and pulled the hood of his onesie over his eyes. Leonard kissed the side of Jim's head and continued looking through the drawings.
"How about we clean all of this up and watch a movie? Hm?" Leonard suggested once he'd finished flipping through Jim's art work.
"Okay!" Jim nodded eagerly.
He was already gathering his crayons to shove them back into their box. He loved watching movies, because movies meant cuddles and snacks, and sometimes staying up past bedtime. If he can convince Leonard to watch another movie with him, and he only says no when Jim is being naughty, or when he's really sleepy, but he's not really sleepy any of those times, Leonard is just being a meanie. But Jim still loves him anyway.
Leonard patted Jim's shoulder, "I'm going to go make you something to drink. Pick out a movie once you're done cleaning up."
Jim nodded and quickly returned to piling up his coloring supplies. He knew that he wouldn't get to watch his movie until they were all put away right, and he wanted to watch his movie.
Once he'd gotten his crayons and drawing paper all put away Jim grabbed his stuffed lion, Bubba, and his favorite fluffy blanket from his small bin of little things. He carried them over to his small sofa an began looking for a good movie to watch. He decided to settle on a really, really old movie, The Lion King, because it's Bubba's favorite.
Leonard walked sat next to Jim with a sippy cup and pacifier in his hands, "Did you pick a movie, Jimmy-boy?"
"Mhm" Jim nodded, "Me an' Bubba picked a good one!"
Leonard smiled, "Did you now?"
"Yeah!"
Leonard offered the items he'd brought to the boy, and Jim happily took the sippy cup and pacifier from the man's hands. He didn't put either into his mouth. He fidgeted awkwardly where he sat. Little Jim wasn't always the most confident when it came to asking for things, he got easily embarrassed by some of his requests, luckily Leonard had learned to recognize when there was something he wanted.
"Is there something else you need?" Leonard asked, noticing the boy's unease.
" 's just... Can I... Can I sit on your lap?" Jim asked, a faint blush on his cheeks, "Please, Bones?"
Leonard smiled and patted the space between his legs, "Of course you can, Darlin'."
Jim planted himself between Leonard's legs, leaning back into the man. He smiled, snuggling up to the man, as close as he could get.
"Loves you Bones." Jim said, just before sticking the spout of the sippy cup into his mouth.
Leonard tussled Jim's hair, "I love you too, Jimmy."
