    Vroom Vroom

I flew backwards as the motorcycle accelerated forward. Panicked, I flung my arms around Xander’s waist. I heard him give a low chuckle as I tightened my grip. After a while, my grip became looser and I started enjoying the ride. I didn’t know it was this fun to ride a motorcycle. The wind blowing through your hair, the open road, the feeling of being free, it was amazing. How come y parents wouldn’t let me get one of these?

I felt the motorcycle slowing down as we arrived in front of a diner. It was as big as the convenience store I had visited to get bubble tea. The building was a square shape, covered in white paint and had red, blue and yellow stripes in the middle.

Xander parked the motorcycle and we both got off. I watched as he removed his orange helmet from his head, revealing his messy, yet cute, jet black hair. He set his helmet down and looked at me. Our eyes met. I looked down and felt my cheeks warming up. Stinking cheeks! Luckily, the helmet I still had on hid most of my cheeks.

“Aren’t you gonna take your helmet off?” He asked.

I looked up to see his face just inches away from mine. He placed his hands on the side of the helmet. I stared at his eyes and started thinking he was going to kiss me but he wouldn’t. One; I had a helmet on and two; it would probably be like the last time. He removed my helmet and hung it on the bike’s handlebars.  My face did not show any feelings.

“Shall we enter?” He asked, holding his arm out to me, gesturing me to link hands with him.

“Yes, we shall.” I looped my arm around his and we entered the diner.

Somehow, they made the diner look bigger inside than its actual size. Xander led me to one of the booths where everyone was already seated, including Justine. Ignoring the girl that gave me the vibe that she hated me, I gave everyone a warm smile, not really turning to look at Justine. I took a seat beside Jenny and Xander sat across me, beside Wyatt. From left to right there sat me, Jenny, Ace, Maia, Monica, Justine, Wyatt and Xander. Wow, never had this many friends before. I’m so stoked!

“Hey,” I greeted. “How’s it goin’?”

    “I’m fi–“

“Hungry!” Maia yelled, cutting off Monica.

Monica fake coughed and continued. “I said I’m fine. Thank y–“

“I’m hungry!!” Maia yelled again cutting off Monica.

“Just let me finish! Gosh if you hadn’t interrupted me we wouldn’t be having this conversation and we would have already ordered!” Monica yelled, her fuse finally setting off her tiny bomb. I looked around and saw a few people staring at our booth.

“Well, she already knows what you’re gonna say so what’s the point in talking more!?” Maia yelled back.

“Hey! Calm yo face!” Wyatt shouted to break off their argument.

“Alright! Let’s just please order something! I’m starving!” Maia pleaded.

“Fine, we’ll order.” Jenny said. She raised her hand and soon a guy appeared. He looked like he was in his early twenties and was no doubt handsome. He wore a yellow polo shirt with the diner’s name, McGail’s, written across the breast pocket. He wore a name tag that said “Sam”.

“May I take your order?” He asked, flashing Jenny a cute smile.

“I’ll have a bacon burger and a chocolate milkshake, please.” Ace said, breaking off the waiter and Jenny’s stare.
