I WAS RIGHT! Moving to LA WAS a GREAT Idea!
Well, I know Australia isn't much, but it's nothing compared to America. LA to be precise. Yes, LA as in Los Angeles. I had recently moved here, to further my career in acting. I love it. Have ever since I was young. I remember, this one time, I was in year nine in high school, we had to do a unit called, "Mask and Movement". We had to tell a tale through movement. I can't remember the grade I got on that though. Shame.
I walked into Starbucks, to get some coffee, before I went to the studio, for my first audition. I was nervous. It was only natural. This WAS my FIRST audition after all. For a movie called, "Cause of Death." I was auditioning for the protagonist, Sandra. This was getting all too exciting now.
"Hi, I'll have a large black coffee please?" I asked, getting out a 10 dollar bill.
"That will be 6.50 please." the girl at the register said. I handed over the ten dollar bill.
"Keep the change." I waited for five minutes, before getting my coffee, walking out the door, and to the studio.
STUDIO:
I walked in, nerves occupied, determination written all over my face. I was ready to win this. Well, that's what I thought before I saw who was sitting on the male protagonist's chair. Josh Hutcherson. JOSH FUCKING HUTCHERSON, was playing Chase Matthews. Oh my gosh. If I got the lead, I would be playing alongside him, as his partner, and love interest. Time for inner freak out. EEEEEEEEEEGH!
I sat down along with all the other girls. One with bleach blonde hair, big boobs, and dark skin that had been made that dark by a fake tan and foundation. She looked like a Barbie doll.
"Annabelle Knight?" I heard someone ask. I looked up to see that it was my turn to audition. I walked up onto the stage, and sat across from HIM. He looked at me and smiled reassuringly. I returned it.
""Sandra, this place is about to blow! We need to get out of here NOW!"" he read. The way he stressed his lines, if I wasn't sitting here, knowing it was just make believe, I would've believed him.
""No! We need to get the evidence Chase! We need to get it, so we can put this killer behind bars! He's killed too many people! I can't just sit back and watch him kill more!"" I cry. I was starting to slip into character. I was becoming Sandra Thomas.
""Officer Thomas, that is an order!"" he shouted. I flinched, (acting of course), and looked back down to my script. And I was in shock. I had to kiss him. I had to kiss Josh. Hutcherson. I had to kiss Josh Hutcherson, after my line.
""Look, Chase. I know we said, this wasn't supposed to be personal, but I can't take it anymore! He murdered my cousin! This evidence is what I'm supposed to collect, to make sure no-one has to go through what I did! If this place does blow, I just want you to know..." "I trailed off, my voice in a whisper, leaning forward, and placing my lips on his. Fireworks. Mini dragons. Is there such thing as gravity anymore? I then pulled away, to my relief, I wasn't blushing, (well at least I hope I wasn't), and looked toward the director. He had tears in his eyes.
"MS. KNIGHT! YOU GOT THE PART!" he yelled. My insides dropped. I got the part!? I got to kiss Josh Hutcherson, more than once!? Looks like moving to LA was an AWESOME idea.
