"For some reason hearing you revere me as Dianxia is heartwarming." At his blush I yearned to push those few strands of hair away from his face and feel his cheeks, but had to control the urge for he was not mine yet.

"What about your family?" At his inquiry I wanted to reply 'Only you' but yet again that was impossible.

"No one."

Turning to face me he asked again, "No one?"

With a shrug I took the last sip and saw he had finished his drink too. Dianxia and I had never dated during our lifetime, maybe that concept never existed back then or rather we were so busy saving the world that love just blossomed between the two of us. But having lived all these years and watching the world change I realised that this Dianxia needs to be handled differently. Beautifully.

Making my way towards the stall I glanced at various eatables on display and thinking back to the time where Dianxia loved soft steamy buns I ordered one plate and a sweet cake.

His eyes glazed over the contents, "These are my favorites. When I was young my mother used to always complain for my lack of consumption of food and more of steamy buns and sweet cake. Oh! She's going to be have a laugh when I tell her that today I tasted my soul food."

Picking out a steamy bun he brought it towards my mouth and nudged me to open. This gesture shocked me but then I obliged. Once satisfied that I was chewing his bun- I mean the steamy bun- he started having some too.

"Did you have a good childhood?"

"Oh yes! Skylar; the one who by the way challenged me to this date; has been my best friend since the day we were born. Usually his parents would always find him at my place and we've been inseparable. We were known as two little devils to beware off."

As his laughter embraced me softly I had to smile at the nickname. I snickered at thought on what would be Mu Qing and Feng Xin's reaction on knowing that Dianxia has moved on from them. Good riddance. Dianxia is far superior to them.

"My parents have always cared well for me. I am a single child so Sky was always more like a sibling to me. The year we turned eighteen both of us backpacked to Europe and spent some months there learning art and music."

Watching him this animated a pang of hurt hit me. I missed you so much Dianxia. If only I could take you in my arms and feel your warm breath again.

"Hua," he called out my name softly.

"I am not trying to be nosy and-" his eyes peered into my soul; "correct me if I am wrong, but why do I feel like you have a sad past?"

"What made you deduce that?"

"Your eyes. Everytime your eyes meets mine I feel like you're on verge of tears."

Fuck!

You're not wrong Dianxia.

"What's your story?" Just as he asked me his phone rang and it broke the momentum. I was glad for it.

"Sky-" he spoke over on the phone, "yeah. Will meet you there." Raising his eyes he grinned suddenly, "My date is going fabulous. Hua is right in front of me and if you hadn't called, we'd be sharing a passionate kiss right now."

His words made me laugh and I could tell he was glad I didn't take it as an offence.

"Seems like your friend is checking on your whereabouts."

"Yeah." He was perplexed whether to leave or not.

"Come on. Time to end our date and head back to reality." Gesturing him to sit astride first on his bike, I joined him and soon we were back to the city.
