Small Problems

Dinner went as well as you would expect it to go unless awkward silence and trying to avoid eye contact is your thing. This was getting too much for you, having no idea what was going on and being left in the dark, questions being unanswered.

You knew what you had to do, you don't belong in a place like this, with all these expensive things, being fed and cared for, finally being given the basic necessities. Leaving this place is the best choice of action, no more being coddled by people you don't even know, poor Bruce doesn't even know you're still harming yourself, and you're going to keep it that way, he is way too nice of a person to know what's going on in your fucked up brain.

The room was silent, you were sent back a while ago with strict orders from Dr Cho to go straight to bed for rest, knowing full well it wasn't going to happen. Tony was in the lab, I learnt while being here that he likes to coop himself up in there for days on end, living off the bare minimum. Bruce was probably in his room, he tends to like keeping to himself, not very sociable to any but me and Tony.

Now was the perfect opportunity if any to get out of this place, you had no idea where you were going to go, but there wasn't an option anymore, you had outlived your stay, at least that's what your mind told you.

Thankfully they stopped locking your door a couple of days ago, and now that you think of it, how long have you been in this place? How much school have you missed? Does anyone even know that you're gone? It doesn't matter now is not the time for this, I need to figure out a plan to get out unnoticed. The hardest part will be getting past J. A. R. V. I. S. without him alerting anybody, especially Tony and Bruce.

Taking a deep breath you find the courage to get up and make your way up to the door,  the metal feels like it's burning your skin as you twist it open, the dark corridor greeting you on the other side, thankfully no one residing on this floor other than you. The marble flooring is slippery under your sock-covered feet as you make your way to the stairwell, as the elevator would make way too much noise.

Regretting passing up most of the dinner, you make your way past the 5th floor, stepping on the landing stop suddenly as you see a shadow on the bottom of the steps. Silent cry's make their way to your ears, obvious agony coming from each bout. Not knowing what to do you slowly back up hoping not to be seen, but as you make your way back to the steps your socks make a squeaking noise, stopping you in your tracks. Looking back down you notice the hunched figure still and slowly tilt there head in your direction, wide vulnerable eyes staring back at yours.

Shakily they rise and turn to properly look at you, now glaring, back straight with a sneer adoring their beautiful features.

"How dare you creep up on a prince, do you know who I am?" It was the raven hair male from a while ago, seeing him like this made him seem so much more docile.

"I..I...ah.." Not knowing what to do you just stood there staring back at him, which obviously angered him further.

"What are you doing down here, trying to sneak out? You should just leave this place you don't belong here, go, nobody will care." Sick of looking at me he turned on heel and strode away, not even taking a second glance to see how his words affected you.

Not even giving him the satisfaction of making you cry, you take a deep breath knowing now more than ever you needed to leave.

As you pass the final step you look around and find nobody about, perfect, this is just what you wanted. Just as you were making your final steps to the entrance door someone spoke out.

"Are you sure you want to leave?" The disembodied voice of J. A. R. V. I. S asks quietly.

"Yes, I'm sure"

"Tony and Mr Banner will be upset",  Not knowing what to say to that you shake your head and open the doors, there is a better place for you out there and if you end up dead then so be it.

Taking one last look at the tall building, you take off not looking back, down the dreary streets, the moon the only source of light as the dark surrounds you.

It was pretty chilly outside, with only a t-shirt and a pair of pants with socks it was getting to you. Maybe this wasn't a good idea, maybe I should have stayed, I could go back home, no, no, that wasn't an option, I would never go back there no matter what happens.

Just as you were about to pass an ally way, you feel yourself being grabbed, a rag made its way to cover your mouth, struggling to stay awake, you kept fighting until it got too much and you faded into darkness.
