Cold. So cold. Why is it cold? It shouldn't be this cold in the tower.... oh wait. I left the tower, so where am I? I try to open my eyes only to see darkness, panic starting to set in I try and move my limbs, but I can't, what's going on here?
The sound of heavy footsteps approaches you, causing you to panic more. Where am I? I try to remember the last thing that happened before this, and nothing came to mind. You wanted to cry, your anxiety getting to you, at the brink of a panic attack. The footsteps stop somewhere in the distance, a click of fingers and suddenly you can see. Blinking as the light hits your eyes you try to adjust to the new surroundings, trying to keep the tears at bay, you knew not to show weakness.
You look around and see an older man standing a couple of feet away, at least 6 feet tall, with scars all over his face, a permanent scowl, and a weird uniform with an octopus on it. You knew this wasn't going to end well for you, you wanted to shout, scream, beg them to let you go, but you couldn't, no noise would come out.
"I see we finally managed to find you, Miss Banner" The rugged man spoke with a gruff to his voice.
What did he mean Miss Banner? You were an L/N. The only person you knew was a Banner is Bruce, he must be confused. He continued.
"It took us quite some time to get your location, they did a good job at keeping you hidden, but not good enough" He gave you a sharp look, slowly walked over to some monitors, he typed something in as he kept his back to you. You sensed a presence behind you, your heart hammering in your chest, not knowing what was going on and just wanting to be in the safe confines of the tower, oh how you wish you didn't leave.
"We have taken some blood tests while you were sleeping, and it seems we were right" He didn't elaborate any further, instead continuing to type away.
Looking down you saw that you were strapped down, with no way of escape. A sob left your mouth before you could stop it. The man froze and slowly turned towards you, a nasty grin on his already messed-up face.
"There's no need to cry dear, I'm here to help you, to reach your full potential, what those no-good heroes wanted to stop, you will be able to do great things once we are done" He clicked his fingers and something cold was placed on your head, your eyes went in a frenzy trying to figure out what is going on, whatever it is it can't be good.
"We will unlock your full potential, nothing will stop you" He turned once again and started pressing some buttons, before you could think of anything else, a shock went through you and all you could feel was pain, like every nerve on your body was being burned. You screamed and screamed until your throat was red and raw. No idea how long this torcher went on for, but it finally ended, taking deep breaths you couldn't bear to open your eyes.
"It seems it will take much more, oh well, we have a lot to try Miss Banner, don't worry dear, you'll fit right in here" You finally got the courage to open your eyes and see his backside as he walked out of the room, leaving you with a guard.
If life wasn't horrible before, this made it hell.
<At the tower>
It had been a good half hour since breakfast had been served, and you had yet to show yourself. Tony, Bruce, and Steve sat at the table, no one spoke until there was a clatter of utensils. Looking over was Bruce with shaky hands, obviously the culprit. He looks apologetically over to the other two. Tony gave him a nudge to get his attention.
"Don't worry big, they will be down here any minute, they probably just slept in" Bruce nodded his thanks but there was this feeling in him that something wasn't right. Excusing himself from the table, and thanking Steve for the food, he left in a hurry to the elevator not even sparing a glance at Tony, knowing he will say something along the lines that I'm just being paranoid.
He just hopes that is the case, but you're never late.
The elevator stopped on your floor, a ding signaling arrival. He walked over carefully and knocked on the door, but nothing. Waiting a couple of seconds he opened the door slightly, just enough so you can hear him.
"Y/N, breakfast is getting cold, I would love it if you would come down and grab some" He was met with silence, his anxiety getting the better of him he opened the door fully to see your bed completely untouched, panic setting in he checks the bathroom, you weren't there either.
"J.A.R.V.I.S alert the Avengers" You were gone and it felt like his world is crashing around him, and he had just got you back.
