"What happened? Why couldn't I contact you? Why is Tony with you?" He was throwing questions left, right and centre, not giving you a chance to answer, and it appeared it was starting to annoy Stark quite a bit.

"Whoa, settle down, there was just a minor setback in the software and we had to wait for the power to come back on after it rebooted, nothing to worry about," Stark explained with his signature smirk.

"But I wasn't able to contact you! I waited almost 2 hours hoping nothing happened to the pair of you," He sounded so concerned about you and it was really surprising, no one ever worried about you, let alone cared if you came home at all.

You were still confused by all this, at the fact they wanted to help you, let you live with them till you were better, (You still had no idea as to why they kept you here instead of at a hospital), no one has ever been this nice to you, and you were the reason behind it, you've known since the day you were born. You were just a burden and a mistake. There was no point of you being here, it's not like you were important, you've never done anything special. Even though you knew all this to be true and have gotten used to people telling you, it still hurt to think all those things. The name-calling and constant put-downs were the only time you felt anything, otherwise, it was like you were an empty shell of a person.

(I can't stress this enough, none of that is true, you are an amazing person that lights up anyone's life, so don't think otherwise 😁)

You cut yourself out of your musings and decided to step into the argument, terrified of not knowing what was going to happen if it continues.

"H-hey Bruce, it's fine, nothing happened, just a malfunction" He looked sceptical and eyed Tony wearily but nodded none the less.

"Alright, well just down here is one of the guest rooms, it's just below the Avengers rooms that were installed, so if you could follow me I will show you where you are staying", He says while walking down the corridor, when you were walking past Stark you give a quick bye and catch up to Bruce.

Stopping in front of a door, Bruce leans over and opens it and what you see inside leaves you amazed beyond belief, this was nothing like you have ever seen before. Cream-coloured carpet covered the floor while there were pearl white walls, a luxurious grey couch, a small wooden desk with an expensive-looking laptop, next to it was two doors that lead into two different rooms.

What had to be the most precious thing there was the bed, it looked like an incredibly comfortable queen-sized bed with dozens of pillows and cushions.

It may not seem like much to a lot of people, but this was beyond anything you could dream of. Dreaming of this kind of thing happening is the only thing you could do as the voice in the back of your head told you that you didn't deserve this kind of treatment.

Tears started to fill your eyes, that has been happening a lot lately, you had no idea what to say. Turning around you thanked Bruce as warm tears slid down your face, tears of happiness.

"Its no problem at all," He said with a smile, looking around the room himself. "The door on the left is the bathroom, and the one on the right is a walk-in wardrobe. I will be back later to get you for lunch, so if you need anything ask J. A. R. V. I. S. to contact me and I will be here right away".

"O-okay"

Saying goodbye Bruce left, closing the door on the way out, and you were left alone to explore the new room you were to stay in for now.

You were confused beyond belief, why were they keeping you here instead of an actual hospital? Surely they have had enough of you by now. Have they contacted your parents? Oh god. Were they letting you stay here as your parents bid there time? Are your parents paying them to keep you here?

But what if they actually cared about what happened to you?

They don't actually care and you know it.

They just pity you.

Your just wasting there time and resources.

Should have just killed your self, oh wait, you couldn't even do that!

The voice in your head came back, screaming at you, destroying you from the inside, but you couldn't deal with this right now so you tried to block it out, and surprisingly it seemed to work for now, albeit difficult.

<Half an Hour later>

Gazing out of the wall-sized window you marvelled at how gorgeous the view was, how could you have gotten so lucky to be at the same residents as the avengers?

Sighing you got up deciding that sitting on your behind all day wasn't as fun as it may seem, looking at the digital clock on the desk made you realize that it hadn't really been that long since the elevator fiasco, something you wished would never happen again.

Having enough with the boredom you walked over to the door and quietly opened it as to not alert anyone that you had left, finding no one on this floor you headed to the elevator and started your journey to figure out where the heck the kitchen was.

Pressing one of the buttons that were a couple of floors above you, the elevator started to make its way down, only for you to realize something.

What if I wasn't supposed to leave the room?

Panic immediately filled you as that thought crossed your mind. Reaching your hand out you slammed the button of the floor you were just on, but it was too late, the elevator had reached its destination with a ding, the doors opened and revealed a living room of sorts.

Sighing in relief as the room had been empty. Not wanting to cause any more trouble you decided to head back to the elevator and pretend that this never happened, only for voices to stop you in your tracks.

I thought this place was empty

Knowing you shouldn't but your curiosity getting the better of you, walked quietly over to what seemed to be the kitchen, the voices getting louder with each step. Looking past the wall you saw Tony and Bruce at the kitchen table in what seemed to be a serious discussion. Hiding behind the wall, making sure that no noise was made you leaned against the thick wall and could somewhat make out what they were saying.

"We can't keep them here......too dangerous......know what he is like"

"I know.....abandon them again.....no.......I can't believe this"

"It's for the best...."

All you could hear was silence from then until the slight sound of crying could be heard from beyond, knowing you had listened in more than you were suppose too, you turned around and started to quietly walk back to the other side of the room only to trip on your own two feet, grabbing the closest thing to you, which happened to be a lounge, and try to balance yourself but you knew it to be already too late.

Footsteps started to come closer, so you straightened yourself up, panic coursing through you.

You fucked up this time. They won't want you now, you little rat

Looking up you saw Tony with a slightly dishevelled Bruce behind him, eyes red with the very obvious look of someone who had just been crying.

"Well its a bit early for you to be up here for lunch, but hey, no time is better than the present" Tony shrugged and headed back into the kitchen, calling over his shoulder. "Ever tried Shawarma?"

Not knowing how to respond you looked back over to Bruce, he seemed to be able to clean up his look, now less of a mess.

"Tony, I'll be in the lab, I won't be having any" With that said he gave you a small, sad smile and left.
