                                                  Maybe i wasn't there
when you had your 
wrecking breakdowns
                              Maybe i wasn't there
when he hurt you 'cause
you let your guard down
                              Maybe i wasn't there
at the times when you
needed me the most

                              Maybe i wasn't there
and still—until now
i can't be there for you
                              But i promise—
i'll make it up to you
i may not be the perfect one
but i can be the right one
                              The one who deeply, completely
wholeheartedly and endlessly
loving you—always you.
