Halle Henry
Last night was incredible. I had so much fun meeting people and talking to singers I've looked up to my whole life. I can't believe I won an award for my vocals too, that just seems so odd to me, but I'm so fucking grateful.
I got to the hotel and called home immediately, I couldn't stop crying. My sister answered and said that dad was asleep, but he's so proud of me and she is too. Ellen was crying and if I could have had one thing, I'd have asked if my family could have come. They would have if they could have, but Dad has a lot of hospital appointments just now so it's easier for them to stay at home right now.
I plan on going back as soon as possible. I have a few things I need to do in LA in the next few weeks, and then I'm spending a month at home. I miss it so much and to be honest, I've been feeling so homesick recently.
It was a great evening, but now that I'm in the taxi after getting off a five and a half hour flight back to New York, I've never wanted my own bed more. I have a day or two off, so I really plan on catching up on all my lost sleep, calling home and planning for when I do go back to London.
Pulling up outside the apartment complex, there were people at the doors to greet us. From managers, rto producers, to sound tech guys, pretty much just anybody who helped record my album, and Harry's song only angel considering it won an award last night, and I had those awards in my bag.
I couldn't stop smiling when I got in, greeted by these people who have made my dreams come true. Harry was there too, smiling as Mick and I headed through with our bags to see everyone and of course, give Harry his award.
Mick and I chatted to people about the awards, thanked the people who congratulated me, and then I ran upstairs with my suitcase, set my award aside, grabbed Harrys and rushed downstairs again. Everyone was still chatting away in the longue, and Harry was mid conversation with someone, but when he looked over at me, his conversation came to a halt as he walked over with his hands behind his back.
"Congratulations Harry Styles." I smiled, passing him the trophy with his name engraved into the silver.
Harry took his trophy, and then pulled me in for a hug, where he whispered thank you into my ear. His free hand was on my lower back and although it has only been just over twenty four hours since I had last seen him, I realised that I missed his touch a scary amount.
"You looked great last night." He said, stepping to the side so that we were engaging in a conversation between just the two of us and not everybody else here in the lounge.
"Thank you." I blushed, looking up at him properly, and then squinting my eyes a little to see whether I'm going blind, or if Harry has a bruise on his face. The more I stare, the more convinced I am that Harry does in fact have a bruised chin. "Harry? What happened to your chin?
"Oh," He pauses, laughing slightly and then nervously running his hands through his hair. "I got excited when I was watching the awards, too excited. I fell and cracked my chin off the coffee table." He explains through laughter. "Oops."
I looked at him in shock, not sure whether to laugh or not, but I couldn't help it, I had to. "What?!"
"I was excited, Halle!" He laughs, defending himself dramatically.
"You were always going to win that award!" I laugh, shaking my head, "You were really that surprised?"
Harry shakes his head, and then he just looked right into my eyes making this conversation feel a whole lot more intimate. "I was excited when I heard you won your award. It was you I was cheering on from my couch, alone, with a few cans of cider."
