Chapter 9: Meeting The Champion

Jaiden POV

"You really did it now Eevee!" I say to Pokémon which is no longer an Eevee, but now a Jolteon!

He tilts his head at me. I rub my head and I take a deep breath. "Okay. It's gonna be okay. I'll just tell Geno and maybe he'll understand and not freak out. Right?" I look at Monferno and Eevee and my partner is the only one to shake his head. "I'm so dead..." I returned all of them to their Pokéballs.

I stumble my way over to the Pokémon Center. Unfortunately I don't think I'm ready to take on Gardenia. Monferno hasn't recovered from battling Mars and other members of Team Galactic. Even Jolteon hasn't recovered as well.

So now, it's up to Starly, Anorith, and Buizel. Buizel at a massive disadvantage. What am I gonna do?

I close my eyes and I sigh as I walk. "Anything else want to get in my way?" I say. And then I bump into something. "Oof!"

I fall back. "That was smart..." I say to myself. I hear footsteps. "Are you alright?" I open my eyes and I see two feet in front of me. "Yeah I'm fine. I'm so... s-so..." There's no way! Is that really her right in front of me?!

"Let me help you up." She's offering me her hand! Am I awake?! Is this really happening?! I do take her hand and stand up straight. "I'm sorry if I got in your way."

"What?! N-No it's my fault!" I tell her. Oh man I'm a mess and I'm talking to her! Is this really happening?! Am I sure I'm not dreaming?!

"Is that your Pokédex?" She points and I look down to see my Pokédex out. "O-Oh yes it is! I'm just starting as a Pokémon Trainer!" I raise my hand. "I'm Jaiden! It's nice to meet you Cynthia!"

I see a gentle smile from her and she shakes my hand. "Nice to meet you as well." She lets go and she gets me my Pokédex and looks at it. "This sure takes me back. Some good memories." She hands me back my Pokédex and I bowed my head. "Thank you!"

"No need." She laughs. She laughed!

I look up at her again. "If I may, what brings you here to Eterna City?" I ask her. She smiles. "Would you like to take a walk with me?"

"Yes!" I shout but I clear my throat. "Yes I would." I said normally. I walk beside and followed her. "As you know, I'm a trainer just like you, and I've also been studying Pokémon mythology lately." She tells me.

I still can't get over I'm walking beside and talking to THE Cynthia. I'm sure Tyler would lose it if she saw her here. Our small walk leads me over to a massive statue of a Pokémon I've never seen before.

"Whoa... I didn't see this when we came here today..." I say walking closer to it. "That statue is an ancient Pokémon." Cynthia spoke and walked next to me. She also looks at the statue. "According to myth, it was an extremely powerful Pokémon." So cool. It's definitely a legendary Pokémon when you look at it and I definitely see it as big one as well.

"When you look at it, don't you think it's almost like it's a combination of two Pokémon?" I ask her and she smiles. "Who knows. Maybe the statue is two Pokémon in one, or a new species we have yet to discover again years later."

"Jaiden! Jaiden where the hell are you!" The sound of Natasha gets me attention. "Oh crap I forgot again! I have to get ready for my gym battle!"

I panic and I hear Cynthia giggle. "Seems like our chat is over." I stop panicking and looked at her again. "Y-Yeah it has." I smile at her. "It's a pleasure to finally meet you in person." She smiles back. "And it's nice talking to someone else about mystery of Pokémon."

I nod and about to leave so I can meet up with Natasha. "Wait Jaiden." I look back at Cynthia and she walks over with a Pokémon Egg.

"Take this with you." Me?! She's giving me a Pokémon egg. "Y-You don't have to do that Cynthia! Besides we just met!"

She shakes her head. "You're right I don't have to, but I want to. Please accept this gift from me and good luck on your battle." I mean I can't refuse something like this. I nod and take the Pokémon egg and carefully hold it. "What kind of Pokémon is it?" I ask and she only smiles. "You'll have to wait and see." She waves and I smile and nod. "Thanks again Cynthia! I hope to see you again!"

No One POV

"There you are! Where the hell have you been? I've been waiting for you." Natasha says annoyed with her arms crossed. "And where did you get that Pokémon egg?"

Jaiden nervously laughs. "Natasha!" Natasha looks at her. "You will not believe what just happened to me in just... uh." Jaiden blinks a few times. "How long have you been waiting for me?"

"I've been waiting for an hour Jaiden." Natasha tells her and Jaiden gets up in her face taking the brown haired back. "YOU WILL NOT BELIEVE WHAT HAPPENED TO ME IN JUST ONE HOUR!!"

As Jaiden tells her why she hasn't arrived sooner, from afar, Cynthia, is on her way leaving the city. "Hm."

She looks over to see Jaiden. "So that's her friend." Her attention is then on Jaiden's friend, Natasha. "What a beautiful girl. And a strong trainer I can tell." Cynthia then continues on her own journey. "I'd like to meet Jaiden and her friend again."
