Could it be?

James and I sit in the doctors waiting room. The floors are white and the walls are a light blue with a sun and clouds painted on. Ava and Zarek are on the ground playing with their toys. I don't trust the doctors toys I don't know how long it's been since they've sanitized them. James fills out paperwork for the twins and I sit dazing off. Willow went to the house to pay for it. I haven't seen it yet but I trust her and I know it will be a better house than Felix's. No offense to him. James finishes the paperwork and hands it to the lady at the front desk. She smiles at the twins. "They are a cute pair." James awkwardly smiles and says a "thanks" and walks back to me. I laugh.

"What?" He asks me.

"You're so antisocial." I whisper.

"Well I've been in the castle for my life and then Felix's. It's weird to have normality." he says rubbing my arm.

"It is." I state.

The door opens and a lady walks out, about 40 years old. She smiles and asks if we are the twins parents.

"Yes." James states.

"Ok can you two bring them back so I can check them up?." She asks moving to let us through the door.

I pick up Ava and her bunny and James gets Zarek. We walk back into the hallway.

"Last door of the hallway." she smiles.

I turn around and see a door at the end of the hallway facing us and I walk to it.
We walk in and the carpets green and the walls are a light blue. Weird internal design but ok.

"Just set the two on the table over there." she points.

I turn and a island type of table is present. It has bedding on top with a clothe kind of barrier is around it. Basically like a crib.

"Ok first I want to ask you guys some questions and then I'll check them." she smiles.

"How old are you two?" She asks.

"I'm 18 and he's...."

"22." James states.

Our ages have been hard to keep track of. With everything going on.

"What type of beings are you?"

"She's a half angel/demon and I'm a demon."

"How old are the twins?"

"6 months tomorrow." I say.

"Have you noticed them using their powers yet?" She asks.

James and I look at each other.

"Well, this morning we found the door violently opened. But we don't know who did it. Our guess is Zarek but nothings for sure."

"How violently?" She asks.

"The doorknob left a hole in the wall." James says.

"Ouch, very violently." she scribbles stuff down on her paper.

"That sounds like a demon power to me, most likely a full fledged."

"Full fledged?" I ask.

"Meaning fully demon, not half. Most halves wouldn't use the much violent power because they don't cause destruction as much." she explains.

"So which ever twin did it is a demon?" I ask.

"Most likely." she nods.

"You guys are young parents." she says.

We both nod and awkwardly look around.

"Were the babies planned?"

We stay quite for a minute.

"No." James speaks.

She nods.

"Angela have you been breast feeding or bottle?"

"Breast."

"Good, it's most nutritious for them. But if you do want to switch I'd wait until they are a year old."

I nod.

"Have you been physically healthy? Eating right?"

"Yes."

"Have you been under a lot of stress lately?"

I sigh. "Yes but it should be over now, the stressor is gone." I smile.

She smiles.

"Where did the birthing take place?"

"Home with a midwife."

"Did everything go as planned?"

"Yes." James says.

She scribbles for a minute then sets her clipboard down.

"Ok! Can I see the girl?" She asks.

"Ava." James says turning around and getting her.

"Ava." she smiles.

James picks her up and Zarek tries to stand to be lifted also. He whines when he isn't. James hands Ava to the doctor. She squirms a minute not knowing who she is.

The doctor places her on the metal table covered with a quilt. She takes her clothes and shoes off. She feels her arms and her legs, looking over her. She tickles her sides and she lets out the cutest giggle. She then looks at her ears with a device and checks her heart rate. Then looks at her teeth and eyes.

"She looks healthy. Now I'm just going to do the mythical test." she says.

James walks and gets closer to Ava. I smile knowing he's all worried.

The doctor gets some silver out and presses it to her skin, nothing happens.

"Not a vampire, even if you two aren't there has been cases of it happening."

"How would you know this before 6 months?" James asks.

"Vampire signs happen at 3 months but they don't show until a year."

She then gets a glass bottle of a purple liquid and gets a needle and fills it to 1ml.

"What's that do?" James asks.

"I'll inject it into her arm and wait 5 minutes then take out a little blood. I'll scan the blood and it shows if any creature, besides angel/demon, is in her blood stream. This won't her her besides the pinch of the needle." The doctors reassuringly says.

I stand up and help keeps Ava still. James distracts her with her bunny and the doctor needles her. She starts crying.

"Shhh it's ok Ava it's alright." James says.

"5 minutes." The doctor looks at her watch.

Ava hugs James tightly as the doctor checks her watch. Five minutes passes and the doctor walks up with the needle in hand. James tries to settle Ava down but she squirms and cries. The doctor tries to hold her arm and right before she injects the needle.....it flies out of her hand and across the room. We all stare in shock and I turn around to see Zarek with glowing red eyes.
