Mason's POV:
"Paris?" Is all Declan could say down the line whilst I'm on my way to surprise Zoë at her apartment. The last two months have been amazing with her and ever since getting officially together with her I've been doing pretty good in life in general. My career is sky rocketing, even higher than it already was, and some days ago we decided to reveal our relationship to the whole wide world, which came along with some hate, but mainly positivity. Zoë, in my opinion, is the reasoning behind it all. Even though she still has her own apartment, she practically lives at my place and waking up next to her is the best feeling in the world.
"She's deserved it Declan, you know it." I tell him as I roll my eyes. Zoë has been doing pretty well with the 'Craving Coffee' lately and seeing she's made such progress Hayley offered her to officially become a co-boss with her. The cafe had been doing very good ever since she got appointed to her new function. They were even looking at new venues to open a second cafe on the other side of London, something even I'm excited about.
"I do, but don't you think it's too early to take her on such a luxurious, romantic holiday? I know you guys have been hitting it off pretty good lately, but you never know Mason. I like her, I truly do, but you guys have been dating for only two months." Declan points out. I know, however, that he has the best intentions with me and just doesn't want me to get hurt. Any good friend would give the lecture he'd just given me.
"Mate, you've seen and even said it yourself, she's a keeper. Besides that, we both know she isn't with me for expensive getaways and luxurious handbags or whatever. In fact, I bet she'll despise the idea of leaving London for a weekend, especially with her business going this good." I state. It's true, I've tried to spoil Zoë with everything any girl would dream of, well every girl except Zoë. Instead of accepting the luxurious accessories I'd bought for her she wanted to just get some simple, comfortable and casual clothes by the nearest Forever 21, which I of course couldn't say no to.
"True. You're right." Declan sights. He'd just broken up with his girlfriend, which has taken a toll on him. Me, but especially Zoë, have been visiting him every day, with Zoë bringing some soup now and then from the cafe. He appreciated the gestures and even told me Zoë's presence cheered him up. The two had become good friends over the past few weeks and we always hung out with the three of us at Declan's house.
"Be sure to be protected though." He adds, laughter from both sides after.
"Well, what if I don't?" I baldly ask. Truth be told, I don't overthink whenever I'm with Zoë. Whatever happens, happens. Whatever she's satisfied with, I'm satisfied with. I wouldn't mind Zoë having my babies besides that, and what place is better to make love to one another than Paris?
"You'll possibly get yourself a pregnant girlfriend, plus a child." Declan shrugs. "Would you want her to have your kids though, already?"
"Not particularly, but whatever happens, happens. Besides that, I'll get an even better night in Paris, so we'll have to wait and see I guess." I state as I pull up to her apartment complex. Declan and I say our goodbyes to each other before I make my way up to her apartment.
"Mason, what are you doing here?" A surprised Zoë asks me. Today was her day off and judging by her hair and apron she was busy cooking at the moment. Her affectionate smile made my heart skip a beat, whilst her gorgeous features made butterflies erupt in my lower stomach.
"Well, I might have planned a surprise for you." I smile as I let myself in, Zoë closing the front door behind me as I enter the kitchen. As I assumed earlier she was indeed cooking, with flour being all over the counter.
"Please don't mind the mess, I was busy cooking." She says with a somewhat apologetic facial expression. Seeing her in this comfortable, relaxed state makes me smile. Knowing she's happy and in her own space makes me happy and proud of her. She's come a long way to where she's at right now and all I could do is admire her. She's so powerful, outstanding and unique. Knowing she's this happy after all the misery she's been through makes me feel good.
As she's busy cleaning the kitchen I grab a bit of flour and throw it in her direction as she turns to me, resulting in some laughter from my side.
"I swear to god Mason, you've just declared war." She curses as she tries to grab some more flour from the counter top. I, however, stop her in her tracks by lifting her from the ground with both her legs around my waist.
"Listen, we've got to be somewhere in an hour, so dress up causally as I go ahead and clean up your kitchen." After a small make out session with one another I put her gently on the ground again, her walking off to get dressed as I go ahead and clean the kitchen. Within ten minutes we're on our way to the bottom floor to get in my car.
"Where are we going?" Zoë asks whilst we're making our way to Heathrow Airport. I wanted it to be a surprise until we got there, however, which is why I haven't told her about anything yet. I'd already packed her some luggage, it existing of clothed she left at my place, but mainly hoodies and sweatpants from my own closet seeing she likes to wear those. They look good on her too, so I didn't mind her stealing my clothes anyway.
"Well, somewhere special." I answer as we now near the airport. As we got closer I got more anxious. Maybe she wouldn't like it, or maybe she'd cause a scene in front of the whole airport. She could react in so many different ways, which makes my anxiety grow even more then it already was.
"Wait, are we-"
"Going on a holiday?" She finishes her question. As I put my car into a parking spot I shut it off, turning towards her after.
"Listen, I didn't know how you would react so I didn't tell you about it until now. I'm taking you away for a small holiday this weekend, if you allow me to of course." I say as I get a hold of her hand.
"Please say something Zoë. Don't you like it?" I ask her after not getting a response. Her right hand is covering her mouth still as her left one was shaking a bit whilst holding mine.
"No Mason, I don't like it," She says with wide eyes, making me feel even more anxious. What do I do now? I've already booked the tickets and all and-
"I love it." She finishes, interrupting the train of thoughts which were already forming inside. Before we know it we've engulfed each other in the longest and warmest hug we'd ever given to each other, locking lips shortly after.
"Where are you taking me though?"
"Paris."
