Y/n's pov

I think Alcina is avoiding me. It's been a week since I last saw her. I thought maybe she wanted some alone time, but I don't think that's the case.

"Boo", a voice said in my ear causing me to let out a scream and drop the broom in my hand. I turned around to see Cassandra who was giggling away.

"Please you got to stop that", I sighed. "What's the fun in that, you're so easy to scare", she giggled. "Mother wants to see you ", she said. "What for", I asked. "I don't know, but she looks upset so watch what you say", she said with a wink then turned into flies and flew away. I wonder what she wants?
I put the broom against the wall than began heading to where Alcina was.

I entered the room to see she was sitting in her lounging chair and was staring at the flames in the fireplace.

"Did you want to see me", I asked. "Yes, you can leave", she said. "But I just got here, I thought you wanted to see me", I asked. "I am relieving you from your duties", she corrected. "You're firing me" I questioned. "Did I do something wrong", I asked. "No, I see no use of you being here any longer", she answered. "I understand", I mumbled then went to leave, but stopped. This is probably going to get me killed.

"No", I said as I turned around to face her. She looked at me through the corner of her eye. "Excuse me", she questioned. "I don't want to leave", I stated. She gripped the armrest of her chair as she stood up then turned to face me.

"Do you not understand what I am telling you, you need to leave", she snapped. "I don't want to, I can't", I replied. "Are you humans that stupid", she sneered then stalked towards me. She stopped when her shadow complete engulfed me.

"You were merely a source of food, not a being I cherish nor care for", she spat. "You're lying", I retorted. "Oh really? What makes you think I'm lying", she asked. I went to speak then closed my mouth. "Go on enlighten me, why would I care for a insufferable human like you", she sneered.

"You taught me to read", I answered. "You taught me to read, didn't go over my limit when feeding, you fed me and you remember my name", I answered. "If you truly didn't care for me, you wouldn't have done that all for me", I added. She was quiet for moment, a scowl still present on her face.

"Just because I taught you things you should've known from the very first step you take, I never sucked you dry because I need you alive to feed and how else am I going to address you", she stated. "Just because I did those thing do not mean I care for you, now go", she added. I let out a sigh then stared up at her again.

"Then kill me here", I said. "What", she asked. "I rather be killed by you then some monster out there", I explained. "I won't make it painless, those creatures out there will kill you in an instant", she stated. "I still rather be killed by you; I like you", I confessed. "I understand if you don't like me back I already accepted the fact you most likely don't", I stated. She stared at me then held her arm out, letting the nails on her fingertips begin to grow longer into sharp blades. She raised her right arm into the air, it looked like she was about to give me a back hand slap, but I knew it was to slash me into pieces. I closed my eyes to wait for the pain of death.

Two minutes have past and I still haven't felt anything. Did she kill me fast enough to not be able to process the pain? I opened my eyes to see what she was doing. Her hand, that she was suppose to kill me with, was back at her side.

"Are you going to-", I tried to ask, but she suddenly grabbed by my under arms and lifted me so I was face to face to her. She shoved me against the wall then slammed her lips onto mines. I froze completely then slowly started kissing her back. From the hat I read kiss are interpreted in different ways, it's a different feeling every time. This kiss felt like she was trying to devour me whole. Even if I tried to fight her she would easily dominate me every time.

Alcina broke the kiss, but still held me against the wall. "You are insufferable", she sighed. "I know", I replied. "But that means the feeling are real", I added. She let out a chuckle then placed me back on the ground. "You're reading too many books", she said. "That's a good thing right", I asked. "It is just watch what you said, you can go back to work", she replied then walked back to wear she was sitting. I walked out of the room with a huge smile on my face.
