Chapter 12

Y/n's pov

I slowly opened my eyes to only see I was somewhere dark? I lift myself off the ground to stand up. My neck was really sore for some reason. I turned around to see a flight of stairs behind me, I must've fell and knocked myself out. I got off the ground then dusted myself off. I turned towards the stairs.

"I should make it back up", I stated. Before I could take the first step I head a eerie groan coming from down the hallway. I know I should go back up the stairs, but I feel like I need to investigate what the sound was. I know I should go back up the stairs, but I felt the need to go further down the hallway. The place was dark and cold, you could see water dripping down the walls. How far down is this place?

"Maybe I should go back", I said turning around. Heading back towards the stairs. When I turned the corner I wasn't at the stairs. The wall had a huge hole in it that I didn't remember seeing.

"I'm lost", I sighed turning back around. Maybe if I kept going the way I was going I'll get back upstairs. I went back around the corner to travel down further through the dungeon, this place has to have an exit stairs, right? I turned down another corner, their were cells lined up against the wall. I'm not really surprised since this is a castle their going to have a dungeon filled with cells, that's the purpose of a dungeon. What was odd was that I swore something moved in there, probably a rat.

As I was about to walk past the second cell I heard groaning causing me to freeze in place, then I heard the sounds of bones cracking. A body began to raise up in the second cell. I took slow steps back as they did. A monster stumbled out of the cell with sword in hand, dragging it across the ground. As I was taking steps back I tripped over a rock falling fight on my bottom. The monster raised it swung its sword trying to cut my head off, but I dodged it by laying all the way back. Once the sword kissed me I grabbed the rock I tripped over them threw at them. The rock smacked their face making me then stumble back. I stood up quickly then ran away fast.

          I saw another monster came out of the first cell, but this one had a sickle. When I ran passed them they swung their sickle downward making. A huge gash down my arm. I screamed in pain, but kept running. I turned down the corner only to run into another one of those monster, they must've emerged from the hole of the wall. They lunges their jaws at me. I placed my arms on their shoulders pushing them back they kept shoving forward. I noticed a lot of bite marks along their neck and some on their wrist. I heard the other groans from the monsters getting louder. I pushed the monster I was holding back as hard as I could. They stumbled back, but regain their footing and went to lunge at me again. I dodged just in time as I did them ran further down the dungeon.

I didn't get far, I ran straight into a dead end. I turned around to run back our, but the monsters were quickly to catch up to me. I backed up looking for some sort of weapon, there was nothing. I pressed my back hard against the wall hoping I was lucky enough the wall would break or absorb me, anything to help me escape. The monsters were now three steps away from me. I closed my eyes waiting for to feel their teeth sink into my neck. I didn't feel their teeth ripping my flesh, I heard sound of bodies getting ripped apart. I opened my eyes to see Alcina nails shrinking back inside her hand and the monsters dead, ripped apart on the ground.

I stared up at her panting a bit, my adrenaline rush going away.

"I specifically told you not to come down here", she sneered. "What are those things", I asked. She slammed her fist on the side of the walk making a crack in it.

"Did you hear me, I ordered you not to come down here", she sneered. "I don't know how I got down here", I answered. "Do you really think I'm as stupid as you humans are", she snapped. "Why don't you want me down here", I asked. "To keep you safe from the monsters that lurk down here", she stated. "You should've assumed that when I told you not to come down here", she added. "I know it must've been monsters, but they looked different", I replied. She went quiet, that's not like her.

"Alcina, tell me the truth who are they", I asked. She just stared at me.

"I fed off them", she answered. "Their other brides", I corrected staring down at the ground in shock. "No Y/n they were just food", she said. "That's what I am too aren't I", I snapped. "You were now you aren't", she said. "I'm a fool, I'm a damn fool I trusted you and everything", I whimpered shaking my head. "You're overthinking this", Alcina sighed. "I'm sorry I can't help it since you feed off me", I shouted.  "I only fed off them once that was it no bond were made", she explained. "Please don't fucking lie to me, I saw the bites Alcina", I snapped. She went quiet again.

            "Please just get me out of here", I whimpered. "Y/n you're not one of them", she stated. "Please I don't want to think about it, I don't want to be in this place, just lead me out of here", I begged. She went to say something, but closed her mouth.

             "Let's go", she said then started walking away with me following her from a distance.
