The living room was pretty much silent, soft snores filling the dim lighted room. Jungkook fell asleep, exhausted from sobbing. Crying because he didn't want his husband to leave him. He didn't want to be left alone.

He fell asleep on his husband's shoulder, still cuddling in his warmth, still holding him securely.
Fell asleep with a hope that he would not leave him.

Seokjin was lost. Lost in thoughts. His fingers mindlessly carding through jungkook's messy hair.

"Jungkook, listen," Jin said softly, but firmly. He could see the panic in Jungkook's eyes as he slowly woke up in tension, the way his body tensed up as if he was about to lose something precious. And in a way, he was.

"We can't fix this if we don't take a step back," Jin continued, his voice breaking slightly. "We’ve been going in circles, hurting each other without even realizing it. We need to think, to breathe. Moving out doesn't mean I'm leaving you. It just means... I need space to understand my feelings, to see clearly without all the noise of this house, of our routines."

Jungkook's face was pale, his lips trembling as he grasped Jin's wrist. "Seokjin... no. You don’t have to leave. We can figure this out together. Please don’t do this."

"I’m not ending us, Jungkook," Jin whispered, stepping closer and pulling him into a tight hug. "I just need time. You do too, whether you realize it or not. Everything feels like it’s falling apart right now, and we need distance to heal ourselves before we can fix us."

Jungkook clung to him like a lifeline, silent tears slipping down his face. His heart was screaming at him to hold onto Jin, to not let go, but his mind was telling him he had been part of the problem, that his neglect had led them to this point.

The silence stretched between them, heavy and painful.

"When will you come back?" Jungkook asked, his voice barely audible.

"I don’t know," Jin answered honestly, pulling back just enough to look at Jungkook's tear-streaked face. "But I will come back. We just need to give ourselves this chance to heal. If we don't... we'll lose everything."

Jungkook nodded slowly, though every fiber of his being wanted to argue, to fight for Jin to stay. But he could feel that Jin was right. Something had to change, and forcing it wasn't the way.

Jin reached up to wipe away Jungkook's tears. "I love you, Jungkook. Never doubt that."

"I love you too," Jungkook whispered, his voice shaky. "I’ll wait for you, Jin. I’ll wait as long as it takes."

With one last lingering kiss, Jin pulled away, grabbing his coat from the chair. "I'll pack my things later. I’ll stay at a hotel for now. Just... take care of yourself, okay?"

Jungkook nodded numbly, watching as Jin walked toward the door, his heart heavy with the fear of the unknown.

As the door closed softly behind Jin, the house felt emptier than it ever had before.

For the first time in months, Jungkook found himself truly alone.
