Chapter 19: First Day

My alarm rang at 6 in the morning. I waved my arm and the sound shut off. The sun was shining brightly on my face through the curtains while the birds chirped happily outside. I opened my eyes to see the beautiful room. I could get used to this. The walls were white with gold trimmings everywhere. I was sleeping on a royal red colored king bed. There were many pillows on my bed. The furniture was a beautiful mahogany. I felt like a billionaire. To my left was a wall covered with bookshelves. There were tons of books all over it and I personally couldn't wait till I got the chance to start reading them. I got off the bed and made my way to the door which led to the balcony. I opened the door to let the soft morning breeze in. It filled the room. There was just something about living near a lake and mountains which made everything just so amazing. The sun was peaking over the mountain top and I look down at the lake. The water was still. I turned around and made my way to the washroom. I freshened up and tied my hair in a high ponytail. I walked out wrapped in a towel and walked out to my room. I bent over my suitcase and rummaged through it. I found some yoga shorts and a athletic tank top. I got dressed and finally put my track shoes on. Grabbing my wand I made my way downstairs. No one was there. I checked the time. It was exactly 8, Demetrius changed the time yesterday. I went to the dining room and saw Daisy putting down a plate of breakfast.

"Morning Ms. Ringe," She greeted respectfully.

"Good morning," I greeted smiling at her and then looking around the room to see if Demetrius was there but he wasn't.

Daisy handed me a note and said,

"It is from Master Demetrius."

I took the note from her tiny hand and she went off. The note read:

'Good morning Stacey. I trust you are right on time. Finish breakfast ... All of it. I heard you haven't been eating much lately. Once you are done take your family book of spells. Open to the resurrection page and start reading it. You have till 11. Remember I will know if you don't when we practice at 11. To translate it place you left hand on the first page and your wand on the next. Then say your whole name. The book with scan your hand, voice and wand. Enjoy.'

I did everything he told me. First I ate breakfast. There was so much! There were eggs, bread, fruits, bacon and sausages. By the end I was literally shoving the food down my throat. After I finished I sat on the love seat with a glass of orange juice beside me. I placed a light blanket over my exposed legs. My book appeared in my lap. It was 8 now. I had three hours to read. I opened it up and put my hand and wand on the pages saying,

"Stacey Angela Tani Ringe."

The book flashed a bright light and I felt a scanning feeling run through my body.

"Are you kidding me?" I asked annoyed.

By me doing that the book extended my 100s of pages. How did he expect me to read this? As it is this chapter was long but it was impossibly long now. But I trusted Demetrius a lot. I decided to suck it up and started reading. It started off with the history of it which was really boring. I had been reading for 2 hours now and my eyes were burning. Demetrius and Ethan were probably still sleeping because the house was really quite. Only Daisy would appear sometimes cleaning up around the house. I was sleeping upside down. My head was dangling off the couch and my feet were on the top. But my legs were still covered by the blanket. I saw feet emerge from the corner of the room. I moved my head to see who it was.

"Why are you always upside down?" Ethan asked laughing as he sat beside me.

"Kill me now ..." I grumbled sitting the right side up.

"What did he make you do?"

"Finish all this in 3 hours. I can't read for 3 hours!" I complained.
