Annie left Hitch's home the next morning without a word, she was still sleeping peacefully and Annie couldn't bare to wake her, she smiled as she tucked her in underneath the covers. she looked happy being asleep, like she was having a good dream, she didn't want to face Hitch's wrath if she disturbed that and she didn't want to wake her girlfriend up just to tell her she was leaving to meet the girl she was going to marry, it would just be cruel.

She looked into Hitch's mirror, Annie looked awful, there were dark circles underneath her eyes along with smudged mascara that she had forgotten to take off and her bun had become loose and messy, she'd spent all of last night researching Mikasa, she couldn't help it, it was too addictive scrolling through articles and old instagram feeds trying to find out everything she wanted to know about this girl.

When she got back to her house she sent Hitch a message, explaining where she had gone and why she had to leave, hoping that Hitch would be understanding. It was nearly midday, she should have some time to clean herself up before the Ackermans arrived, she took a deep breath in as she pushed open the doors and slowly walked through the corridors, she was hoping she'd be able to grab some food from the kitchen, she had not eaten in a long while. Annie decided she was going to use the short cut through the dining room, she couldn't waste any time right now. As she pushed open the dining hall doors she was greeted with an unsettling scene, she could feel her stomach churn. At the table sat her dad with who she assumed was Mr Ackerman and Mikasa, she diverted her eyes to the ground as she saw her fathers face turn red.

But she felt shocked, Mikasa was even more beautiful in real life, her black hair shone in the natural light and her perfectly tailored suit fit her so well that Annie couldn't help but blush, she felt embarrassed that the first time she had met her future wife she was looking like she had just come off a bender.

Annie's dad stood up angrily, he stared at Annie, more embarrassed about her appearance than she was.

'Im sorry about this Mr Ackerman' Mr Leonhart sighed 'let me go talk to Annie about this outside'

She wandered out of the dining room quickly with her dad trailing behind her, at least if he killed her she wouldn't have to get married

'Annie I'm disappointed in your behaviour' He lectured 'what on earth is Mr Ackerman going to think? He wants his daughter to marry you because our family is respectable, one look at you and he is going to think otherwise'

'Im sorry dad' Annie yawned 'you didn't give me proper information, how was I supposed to know what time I was meant to be ready?'

'Just go clean yourself up, I want you here in ten minutes, or I will forbid you from seeing Hitch for the rest of the summer'

'Thats not fair'

'Life isn't' He turned around and made his way back into the dining room as Annie scowled, she seemed to be in her own little personal hell catered especially for her.

She sat in front of her mirror, slowly brushing her hair, she could barely recognise herself, the neat dark green dress her dad had picked out for her made her feel like some kind of princess- but not in a good way. She didn't feel like a fairytale princess but rather a spoilt upperclass princess who got everything she wanted with just one smile, the type of princess who could get away with vile words just because they were pretty and rich.

Her mind was itching, she wasn't able to figure anything out about Mikasa just by looking at her, her gaze was empty and expressionless, Annie liked to know what people were thinking, usually she could tell just by looking at their face but with Mikasa she saw nothing, that not knowing frustrated her, her bad mood begun to grow as her head swirled with assumptions. As far as she knew Mikasa was eighteen, only a year younger than her yet that suit made her look like she was in her twenties, she looked all serious and business minded, very different from how Annie appeared looking.
