2 months later

Annie sat loosely on her office chair, the scorching summer sun glistening her skin as it wavered through the window, her head felt like it was about to explode, the hot rays felt like they were melting her brain into liquid- she's always hated the summer. Her shirt was half undone and her jacket was discarded onto the floor, her attempts to cool off had all failed since the air con broke, nothing seemed to work anymore.

'What do you mean you can't get the materials to us by Monday?' Annie grunted angrily down the phone as she wiped another wave of sweat of her brow 'I trusted you with the transport, look I don't give a shit if there's traffic in the ports you're still getting reduced pay until I find someone competent to help me run my business, yeah probably my dad would have handled this better but guess what? He's not fucking here anymore!'

Annie hung up the phone with force and let out an angry sigh, taking over the company had been more work than she thought it would ever be, sure she was great at the technical stuff but when it came to relations she still had some work to do. She ran her hands through her hair and undid another button on her shirt, her life had been quiet lately, ever since the media attention of the divorce blew over her life had seemed less hectic. Their divorce was easy, while a few small magazines looking to make a name for themselves tried to produce some rumours but she was able to shut them down immediately making it easy for them both to live in peace.

'Annie!' She looked up from her computer to see Hitch standing at the door, she was wearing a flowery summer dress paired with a sun hat, she seemed to be glowing in the heat, unlike Annie was 'its been so long!'

'Hey' Annie greeted quietly, going back to typing on her computer.

'God its warm in here'

'The air con is broken and apparently no one is available to fix it so I'm going to have to wait until next week' Annie explained as Hitch pretend to be interested 'shouldn't you be on vacation right now?'

'Thats what I'm here to talk about' Hitch chimed excitedly taking a seat opposite Annie. 'You're coming with me, the flight leaves tomorrow'

'I don't know how many time I need to tell you no but I guess I need to again'

'Why not? You can do work there, your dad went on holiday all the time'

'I'm still new, I need to be here' Annie lied, she wasn't in the mood for a vacation, her head begun to fill with excuses as the heat began to effect her more 'and you know I have therapy, also I'm like a mother now or whatever'

'Annie, adopting a diseased cat off the streets doesn't make you a mother, thats an insult to motherhood' Hitch scowled getting impatient 'Petra can look after your cat and it won't hurt you to miss three weeks of therapy, you've been doing well lately'

'Then is I don't want to a good enough excuse?'

'No.'

'Look Hitch, you go and have a nice vacation with your husband, you don't need to drag me along, you'll have more fun without me'

'I've already booked you a hotel room and I miss you, you've been so busy lately' Hitch sighed with a sad look in her eyes 'a holiday would do you good, it will lighten your mood and give you a break from your life'

'I really appreciate it but don't worry about me'

'And you're divorced now, think about all of the fun you could have'

'I'm not really bothered about that'

'Ugh you have been so uptight since Mikasa left you, you desperately need to get laid, girls have been all over you yet you completely ignore them'
