"Hufflepuffs are extremely loyal, you know. One you get hooked on him, you are never getting over it. That's why you're way better off with me."
"Oh my God, shut up Cedric. Draco is so hot. I can't believe you even had the audacity to say that."
Cedric just laughs, making me smile.
"Never said he wasn't hot. All I said was, you're so much better off with me."
"Ced, you know I don't like you like that. You're like my brother."
"Yeah, except Ron is way cooler than me and you know it."
"Actually, I think you're cooler than Ron, but that's just because he's my brother. Anyway, can we get back to Draco? How am I supposed to talk to him?"
"How about you just don't?"
"Cedric Diggory, I hate to inform you, but I still don't like you." Cedric's smile fades.
"Fine, go ask Hermoine then. But she hasn't twice the advice I have." Cedric leaves the common room, heading in the direction of our dorms.
"Fine, I'll go talk to Draco by myself," I whisper to no one in particular. On my way to the Great Hall, where most people are staring to come down for lunch, I bump into Ron.
"Hey Ron," I say.
"Coming to lunch early? Don't expect to see Malfoy. Him and Crabbe and Goyle are up to something, Harry thinks so. Don't think he'll be here," he says.
"For your information, nosy Ron, I came early to speak to Hermoine in peace," I lie.
"Hermoine is off with Harry somewhere. Hagrid's hut, I believe."
"Oh well, she won't be late for lunch. I'll just wait for her in the Great Hall." I walk off, leaving my brother behind. I brought a book with me and just crack it open when three very loud students enter the Hall. I recognize the voices immediately as Draco, Crabbe, and Goyle. I snap the book shut and spin around. Draco catches my gaze and winks. My heart melts and I find myself standing up and my legs moving.
"Hey Weasley," Draco says.
"Hey Malfoy. You gonna come see the Hufflepuff and Gryffindor Quidditch match tonight?" I ask.
"Would never miss a chance to see Gryffindor lose." He smirks.
"Oh but of course. I'm playing this year you know."
"Really? Had no idea. Don't all the Weasley's play Quidditch?"
"Well yes. Don't all the Malfoy's?"
"I suppose, yes."
We continue to talk about Quidditch for several minutes until Professor Snape enters and tells me to leave the Slytherin table.
"I'll see you tonight at the match. I'll be rooting for you," Draco says as I leave.
"Then I guess I better put on a good show." Draco winks at me again.
...
I was a Beater for the Hufflepuff Quidditch team. I like to start every game against Gryffindor by glaring at my brothers, Fred and George, the Beaters for the Gryffindor team. But today instead, I look around in the stands for Draco. I spot him in the front row of the Slythrin section.
