Chapter 5 ~ Thank youWhy was I unhappy?
Because I was sleep deprived.
I nodded my head to myself yes that's why but against my will, I stole a glance at Sahil and found him already looking at me with a frown. I pulled my eyes away feeling a little pang in my chest.
Faisal did the introductions, I don't know why I was feeling so enraged just at his mere presence right now.
"Soumya this is Serra, and Serra this is Soumya" he told, proudly and self satisfied to make this introductions happen at last, so now he could rejoice at putting his ex best friend in awkward situation.
Soumya smiled politely my way holding her hand out.
I rolled my eyes internally, who does handshakes nowadays?
I pulled myself together and accepted it, putting aside my suddenly discovered mean side.
I didn't know what was the matter? Why instantly I chose to dislike her? I can't even blame it to sleep deprivation, this was majorly me and the other reason could be, Divyanshi's description of Soumya as Cinderella ,she seemed to hate her immensely. The girl who broke 10 years of friendship between the guys.
I was torn between to ask her for tips or avoid her at all cost.
"Nice to meet you, cool cap by the way... oh I have this strange feeling that this cap looks familiar.." Soumya reached and touched my cap or Sahil's cap angling it right to get a proper look, I was baffled at her behaviour. She glanced down at me in confusion. "This is my cap" she told strictly taking it off tugging my hair in the process, I wanted to protest and yank it out of her hands.
But what she said held me back.
"See, "she showed the cursive writing in black marker at the back of it, to my forever love it said. I don't know how to feel about this?
Not sad, at least.
Sahil avoided my eyes when I searched for any answer in them.
"I gifted this to Sahil" she explained, looking at Sahil too with a crestfallen face, something beeped from her bracelet alerting all the three of the guys. Dhruv's head snapped to our way, Faisal reached to get her instantly, looking alarmed.
Soumya groaned in pain clutching her chest, it was Sahil among them to reach immediately being near to her, he stepped forward taking her in his arms without wasting a second holding her so gently and with concern, "you alright?" He asked her softly. She nodded, her body shook with heavy breaths, she held his arm like her life depended on it and looked at him with utter fragile expression, "I am okay but-
"It means nothing, She's Divya's roommate Divya must have lent her you know how she is?" Sahil told rapidly without looking at me
I stared at him in disbelief.
