your pov

At dawn the fellowship stood at the edge of the river, the boats floating gently beside them. You watched as Galadriel gave each member a gift to help them on the journey.

"My gift for you is the bow of the Galadriel, worthy of the skill of our woodland kin. But I cannot give you a gift greater than the one you already hold in your heart". She passed Legolas a bow, her hand lingering above his heart a knowing smile on her lips.

She addressed each of the hobbits individually, even giving Gimli a gift. The dwarf despite his previous distaste of elves was awed by the Lady of Light. I did not see what Galadriel gave him.

"I have nothing greater to give than that which you already bear" she touched Aragorn's necklace smiling kindly.

Galadriel turned to me reaching out a hand for me to take and follow. The rest of the fellowship watched as I was led to a glade just off from the others, so they could not hear us.

"You hold a gift greater than I can give you my star, and abilities that you will soon understand. But here are the herbs of Lothlorien, they will last you for the rest of your journey. But understand Bellaluna that you cannot heal everyone, no matter how much you want to" she handed me a pouch filled with medicinal herbs. I bowed my head in thanks, Galadriel placed a hand on my cheek.

"We cannot run from our own fate, those who try to run from it end up running into it, when the time comes don't stop the past from coming to light my star." she embraced me and kissed my forehead.

"Your father and I love you, always remember that"

"I love you both too.....mother" I say softly.

She smiled and lead me back to the boats where the others were waiting, Haldir hugged me and helped my onto the boat that Legolas steered.

.....

The fellowship drifted down the river, Lothlorien disappearing behind them. The fellowship was quiet, each thinking of his gift from the Lady of Light. Aragorn had Frodo and Sam in his boat while Boromir had Merry, Pippin and Gimli. As you gently floated down the river you thought about what you were told, was something going to happen that involved your past?

"So my lady how long have you known the Lord and Lady?" Legolas asked me.

"Only 3 years, you see I have no memory past that time. They found me, took me in, trained me and taught me many things."

"You lost your memory?" he asked shocked.

"Yes, but I have made many new ones and new friends so I don't worry about the past" I say smiling.

He smiled and I felt my cheeks go slightly pink, "You a quite amazing Bella Luna"

"Please just Luna"

He smiled widely and chuckled, "Luna".

As we continued to paddle downstream taken by the currents, I felt darkness on the banks and a bird screamed in fear. I looked around the shore banks searching for any sign of trouble, they were being tracked, she was sure of it.

"The Agonath" Aragorn breathed looking up at the huge statues of kings, "Long have I desired to look upon the kings of old. My kin".

The others couldn't take her eyes off them, they were huge, looming hundreds of feet above them. She could hear Merry and Pippin's gasps. They made for the banks as the river ended in a waterfall.

They made camp, fire lit but a feeling of foreboding was still in the air.

"We cross the lake at nightfall. Hide the boats and continue on foot. We approach Mordor from the North" Aragorn told them.
