Chapter 12

Separate ways

Himeno sat on the stairs leading to her apartment. The other day she got the sling on her arm taken off. She was waiting for her "errand boy" as they all had a meeting today. She couldn't shake the feeling that something was off with Baji, was there something he wasn't telling her?

He didn't respond to any of her messages, but she didn't feel like asking the group what was with him.

Hopefully she was just being paranoid.

She heard a bike engine and poked her head up to see. She smiled as she saw not Baji but his vice captain instead. Chifuyu waved at her, "Hey Himeno-san!"

Himeno sat at the back of his bike and the two exited the neighborhood. "So," Chifuyu began, adjusting his mirrors, "do you know what the meeting is going to be about?"

"All I know is that a new captain is going to be nominated." Himeno tilted her head back. "That's all."

"Well I bet that captain's going to be you Himeno-san!" Chifuyu put a thumbs up.

"Me?"

"Yeah! Your strong and smart so you could be a leader." Chifuyu explained. Himeno shook her head no and told him that the she wouldn't want to be a leader.

They started talking about random topics from there. Chifuyu telling her about how his cat torn up his shirt, Himeno telling him that she planned to beat up some punks, then they went silent and enjoyed the breeze.

They reached Musashi Shrine, seeing some other members hanging around the parking lot.

"Himeno-san!" Someone yelled. That caught the attention of everyone there.

"Are you ok?"

"How's your arm?"

"It's good to see you back!"

They all bowed down to greet her. Himeno waved her hands, "It's ok guys you don't have to do that." Himeno bathed in the affection as she was mentally hugging herself. Some of the members blushed at her kindness.

Himeno left the crowd and went back to Chifuyu, sitting on the steps besides him. "What's with the long face, Chifuyu." She noticed his distraught expression and poked his cheek.

Chifuyu smiled a bit but soon dropped it. "Himeno-san, I'm worried Baji-san."

Himeno's face saddened. "I guess I'm not the only one. We were friends 2 days ago and all of sudden he just ghosts me. I thought I was overthinking."

"...Baji-san is under house arrest-"

"What?!" Himeno stood up abruptly. "When did this happen!" Why doesn't anyone tell me these things.

Chifuyu didn't have time to answer as the other captains arrived. "We'll talk about this after the meeting." Himeno muttered before running off to go greet the others.

She spotted the captains still standing near their bikes. They didn't notice her running towards them. Himeno ran towards the silver haired male, "Mitsuya-kun!"

He turned at the call of his name and was embraced with a hug from the girl. "Draken told me that you and Sanzu went to go look for me. Thanks." She said in a soft voice.

Mitsuya blushed a little, a smile crept at his mouth. He signaled to his friends for help.

Mikey gestured to him to hug back, Mucho signaled him to say something, and Draken motioned to him to kiss her all at the same time. Smiley motioned to him to ruffle her hair. Mitsuya ended up doing so, "Your welcome Himeno."
