Chapter 17

Chaos begins

Of course he didn't stay the night.

Himeno couldn't sleep well but she had to. Today was the day. It was a rather gloomy morning, for the first thirty minutes she sat awake in bed.

"I won't tell anyone that your crying."

From a broken child to another, grieving and bonding over trauma. She wasn't ready to face Kazutora, not at all. But she'll do what best for her friend, even if it means slapping reality into him.

Baji and her already had a plan, a way to get through. She felt bad for Chifuyu as Baji didn't want to let him in on any secrets.

The real question was if Mikey was cable of murder.

She thought about it in the shower, eating breakfast, and while Hakkai drove her over to Touman. Inside her uniform was a pendant that had a picture of all of Touman's founding together. She had it on for good luck.

She walked behind Mitsuya, staying hidden but also making her presence known to the gang. Her hands were a little shaky due to the adrenaline pumping through her.

Stop Kazutora.

Stop Mikey.

And get revenge on Kenji.

Her priorities were set straight.

Mitsuya took note of her strange behavior, thinking back to her alias with Baji. He trusted her.

"What are you looking at?"

He didn't realize he was staring at her untill she said that. She pushed his head forwards with her finger, "If you space out you'll get attacked by the enemy."

Mitsuya let out a laugh. "I can't let that happen." He darted his eyes to Takemichi. "Not only do I have to look out for myself but I've got to babysit him too. What a pain."

"Tadeshi's not gonna last a second." Himeno stared at the boy. His blue eyes scanning the place. What was it about that kid? What was the charm he had? It always brought everyone together. Maybe he could bring Mikey and Kazutora-

Nope, Kazutora had gone insane. Charm or no charm, Himeno felt the responsibility of their friendship resting on her.

The gangs were called to the entrances. Himeno poked around to get a clear view. Baji wasn't at the front, he was probably hiding out. And so was Kenji. That sneaky prick only brought trouble.

Draken and Kazutora stepped up to the center. "Five on five with your best guys or an all out melee with everyone." Hansen, the overseer, suggested. Himeno scoffed. She didn't like the whole overseer thing, she just wanted to start trouble.

Guessing she got that aspect from hanging around Kazutora cause he too was not interested for the five on five. Draken made their intent very clear which only pissed Kazu off more. He clutched his fist and as the overseer leaned over to calm him down he stuck him. He hit enough to knock him out.

"Conditions, overseer? You guys think this is a game? We came here," he extended his arms, "TO TORTURE YOU ALL TO DEATH!"

"Shall we begin Mikey?" Hanma teased. Himeno narrowed her eyes. She quickly took in the battlefield and when chaos broke lose she got prepared.

Valhalla rushed in, using their numbers to their advantage. Someone approached her at full speed and their fist in the air. What a weak form. She didn't even have to move. As they released the punch she simply pushed their arm to the side and punched them right in the face.
