" gosh ni-ki , why are you just letting him to abuse you like this ? this isn't right anymore " jungwon said to his friend who's laying on his bed . he felt pity for him but he can't do anything . ni-ki doesn't want him to tell the police , even his parents because his dad is the only family he has .
" don't worry won , it'll fade away soon . I'm used to this ever since mom died . "
" what are you saying it'll fade ? look at those bruises , it's been there for too long . it just added everytime he'll hit you . do you really want to die ?" he said in frustration .. he knows why ni-ki is like this but he can't understand his point .
" you know wonie .. I want to follow mom up there . maybe one of these days , we'll eventually meet . I really miss her . " ni-ki said that breaks jungwon's heart . ni-ki's a dear friend , they're together ever since they're young and seeing him suffer and giving up hurts him a lot .
jungwon knows that his friend had committed suicide a couple of times and thank God he's there to stop him . what if he can't come on the right time next time ? will he lose his friend for real ?
" no ! you can't leave me ni-ki . we promised to graduate together and be a lawyer . are you breaking your promise to me ? " he said because maybe he'll change his mind if he'll remember their promise to each other .
ni-ki just giggled from what he heard . he remembered that day when they promised each other to become a well-known lawyer someday and to win cases .. and their main advocacy is to help those who can't afford . they could see how the poor can't get the justice they deserved and rich people can easily get away from their wrong doings . they even carved their names on a tree at jungwon's backyard with a drawing of a scale under .
" maybe , I can't do it anymore won .. you know , I'm dying . " he said that made jungwon to tear up . he remembers how ni-ki told him about him having the same illness with his mom that took her life . it was so heartbreaking .. he feels his heart clench by the thought of it .
" NO! I won't let that happen . not even on my watch , ni-ki . I'll make you change your mind and have the treatment . the doctors can still save you ni-ki " the boy laughed a bit .. it's not funny but he can't help it . he doesn't want to cry ..
" then tell me , what will you do to change my mind ? make sure it's not a stupid one "
" date my boyfriend's brother " jungwon said and ni-ki looked at him weirdly .. did he just said he's planning to give him a lovelife ? is he for real? he's dying ..
" what in the world are you saying dude ? I don't have time for that . "
" please ni-ki .. maybe if you'll meet him , you'll change your mind . just this once ni-ki .. please give it a thought " jungwon pleaded . he wasn't sure if this plan would make ni-ki change his mind .. and also for sunoo to move on . but one thing is for sure , it'll let them forget their current situation even for a bit .
ni-ki sat up on his bed to think for a moment .. he wasn't sure if jungwon is just playing with him or he's serious . this is quite stupid for him to suggest this kind of thing to him .
" so , ni-ki .. what do you think ? are you up for it ?"
" help me do the chores before I'll tell you my decision .. didn't dad said I must do the chores before going out ? I heard you both from here " ni-ki said that made jungwon to instantly stand up . he ran downstairs to do the chores that ni-ki had to do .. the boy can't do it anyways , he's still in pain .
" hmm , he's really serious about this dating plan .." ni-ki said when jungwon went out . he got up of his bed to change his clothes . this night , he'll be saved from his abusive father , thanks to jungwon . but he wasn't sure if tomorrow , he'll get away from him again .

"love , I made him say yes ! " jungwon said through the line . he called Jay to tell him the news .
" that's good ! I'm still persuading sunoo to do it . he's a bit stubborn but I'll make sure he'll meet your friend "
" okay ! I'll go now .. he'll sleepover at my house tonight . I'll tell him about sunoo's condition for him to understand the situation . " jungwon said and was about to hang up when jay speaks ..
" okay , I love you " jay said and there he goes again being on a cloud nine .. he's going crazy .
he chuckled a bit before answering , " I love you too , love " he said with a bit of shyness before he ended the call . he's so nervous that he has to end it . he wants to scream but he couldn't , because ni-ki is just there staring at him weirdly .
" go ahead , you can squeal all you want . I won't judge " ni-ki said though the tone of his voice is a bit malicious .
with hesitation , jungwon jump to his bed and hides his face on a pillow to scream . ni-ki just stared at him unamused . he's not the kind to be interested in love . but he have to do what jungwon had suggested to him . because maybe he's right that it can change his mind .
