Izuku sat in the cafeteria, his head lowered as he listened to all the chatter coming from the students, everyone talking about the recent news of a flame headed vigilante that attacked three pro heroes and a villain, calling himself Ghost Rider.

"I bet I can take the guy out!", boasted Bakugo. "That is if he even bothers to fight you", smirked Sero.
"I'LL GO TO HIM!"
Izuku finished his lunch and stood up. Ochako stood up as well and followed him. "Are you okay?" "Yeah. I just feel uncomfortable." "With everyone talking about the... other you?" "Yeah. I just didn't expect to get this much attention." "I'm sure Mr Slade has been in the same situation."
The couple walked out of the cafeteria, where Izuku noticed something outside. It was three students of class B standing by his bike. "What are they doing?"
They sprinted to the exit of the school, running outside.
"Oh, the knight has returned for his steed!", boasted the one student, who was Monoma. The other two, who were Kendo and Tetsutetsu, looked at Izuku with apologetic looks.
"No vehicle could make you better than me and my class! I guess that ego of yours has gotten bigger!"
The blonde gave the bike a slightly light kick, only making it wobble.
"Monoma, just stop", said Izuku. "Why? Scared I'm going to scratch your little chariot?"

Before he could deliver another kick, Monoma was nearly hit with a whip. The five teens turned to see Carter Slade walk up to them.
"Is there a problem here, folks?" "Nothing to see here sir", said Monoma. "Son, if I had a nickel for every time I heard a troublemaker say that, well..."
The old man walked up to Monoma and stared him down. "I've dealt with folks like you, and never ends pretty."
The class B student scoffed and walked away. "Sorry about him. He has an ego", said Kendo. "I can see that. You take care now." Kendo and Tetsutetsu bowed and walked away, leaving the cowboy with Izuku and Ochako.
He looked at the two teens, resting his hands on his hips. "So, last night sure was something, huh?" Izuku blushed in embarrassment.
"Has this ever happened to you, Mr Slade?" "Kid, I was born in a time where hearing about flame headed skull people would make you think the person telling them had too much to drink. But, considering the world we're living in now, it sounds a little believable."

The trio walked back onto school grounds. "Come on. We've got more training to do, unless you want somebody to kick your ass next time."
As Izuku and Ochako followed Carter, they didn't notice a puddle slowly emerging from a sewer drain.

. . .

Izuku walked into school and felt a figure bump into his legs. "Izuku!" "Eri?" The little girl looked up at the greenette with a big smile that could melt even the coldest of hearts.
Izuku laughed and crouched down to Eri, returning the hug. "Hi, Eri!" Eri looked away from Izuku to see Ochako waving at her. The white haired child ran to her and hugged her leg.

Aizawa walked up to the group. "It was going to be a surprise, but she couldn't wait to see you."
"I don't blame her", chuckled Izuku.
Carter walked in, and noticed the little girl. Eri noticed him too, and hid behind Ochako's leg.
The old man crouched down and smiles at her. "It's alright little missy. I'm not a bad guy. Scout's honor."
Izuku gently placed a hand on Eri's shoulder.
"It's okay, Eri. He really is good."
Eri emerged from Ochako's leg and walked closer to Carter. "So your name is Eri? My name is Carter."
Eri looked up at the hat on his head.
"Are you a cowboy?" "Why yes I am. I even have a horse." "Really? I've never seen a horse before!" "Really? Well, I'll show you when I get the chance, sound good, Eri?"
The little girl nodded her head rapidly.

"Well come on Eri. Midoriya and Uraraka have to get to class." "If you don't mind Aizawa, I could watch over the little missy if you'd like", said Carter.
Aizawa looked at Eri, who gave him a pleading look. "Okay. Stay safe."
Eri gained an enthusiastic smile and ran to Carter. "Remember when I said I'd show my horse when I get the chance? Well, now I have the chance."
The old man and the little girl walked out of the building with hands joined.
