Hours had gone by and August's body hadn't had enough time to fully heal. His fight with the Alpha was only an hour away. Because he was stabbed with silver his wounds weren't healing as they normally would. They were still fresh wounds and if he got hit enough times he would most likely die.

"It's not too late to back out of this honey." His mother said to him,

"I think it is mom. Besides I'd rather die trying to stand up to that a**hole than run away like a coward." He said to his mother. A tear fell down her eye. August wiped it away. "I'm not going to let him win that easily mom.

"He has alpha strength and you are barely strong enough. How are you possibly going to win?" She asked.

"Actually, when an alpha is challenged, he is not allowed to use his alpha strength during the fight. It is to make it an even playing field. If he taps into his alpha side at all during the fight he automatically loses because it doesn't make the fight fair and he is abusing his alpha status to win." Margot said.

"You seem to know a lot about him don't you?" August asked.

"Well yeah, I've been planning this for years. All I needed was someone to trick into doing the work," She said.

"So I'm a pawn? I've been a pawn this whole time?" August joked.

"You were, but then you made me delicious sandwiches and took two silver knives in the gut for me so now you're not."She said.

"Good to know," August said, shaking his head in amusement.

"It's time. We love you son, no matter what happens." Daniel said. They all walked out to the training grounds where the pack had gathered to see the events about to unfold. No one has challenged an Alpha in decades. Some were hopeful, but most knew the alpha would come out victorious. He was a lot stronger than August and was much bigger also. They all watched as August walked onto the grounds.

"I hope you're ready to die, little pup." The Alpha said.

"I don't see how this is fair considering your guys stabbed him and he isn't fully healed," Margot said.

"Why are you speaking to me baby Blake? I suggest you go find your place with your family. I'll deal with you later."

"Oh my gosh, I'm so scared," Margot said, rolling her eyes. August smirked at her response.

"Let's just get this over with." He said.

They stood facing each other, the alpha ready for the fight and to kill August making an example of him. August in a weakened state, still healing from the wounds inflicted on him. He wasn't stupid, he knew he didn't have much of a fighting chance, but he wouldn't make it easy for the alpha to take him down.

The Alpha lunged at him punching him right where he was stabbed. August doubled over holding his wound wincing in pain.

"Going for the easy route I see. Goes to show how much of an a** you actually are." August said, spitting out the blood that had pooled in his mouth. The alpha lunged at him again, but he dodge it and kicked him in the stomach instead. He got two more hits in before the alpha punched him in the face breaking his nose.

"You should just concede before you die here, Hale."

"And miss out on this wonderful beating?" August joked. He got up and stood his ground. " Let me ask you a question? How does it feel knowing that you're a terrible alpha and everyone in the pack hates you? I mean other than your mate who I honestly feel bad for because she is stuck with such an a**, and those idiots that are your lackeys who actually like you?"
